cass - what hearing is that?

A court hearing scheduled for Monday could help determine whether e-cigarettes containing nicotine can continue to be imported (and ultimately sold) without any restrictions or required warnings, or if they are subject to the jurisdiction of the Food and Drug Administration [FDA] - like nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine spray, nicotine inhalers, and even nicotine lollipops - and therefore must prove that they are safe and effective before they can be lawfully sold.

2 attys won't cut it for a stock up. I have over 100 so far, and I'm still hundreds behind some of the other guys.

I have 12 other atty's that are about a month old. Reading your post makes me want to order another 10 at least.

Emus, how old is your juice that lost power?

Only 4 months old.
The worst power loss was 1/2 full PG 24mg kept dark in the fridge.
I 've had other juices that lasted 6 months no problem.
Who knows what I will have after 2 years storage.

Attys and juice will be the hardest parts to come by. You can always build a battery mod. Carts can be "enginereed" out of a lot of things. I am purchasing quantities of high powered unflavored juice and storing it in the fridge. Even if it loses some kick, I hope to have weaned myself down to lower levels of nic anyway. The PG/VG and flavorings will always be available. Worse case scenario, I slap on a patch and vape flavored PG. I expect some clever person can build attys and sell them.

Anyone think that grinding up Nicorette lozenges and suspending them in PG would work?

Lynn - For all the info on the hearing, go to the E-Cig News forum, and read the Sticky on "Smoking Everywhere V. FDA Daily Docket Sheet Update".

This case has been going on for a while, and is just about done. Once the hearing is over, the judge will review the case then hand down a decision. We expect this to be around the middle of September.

thanks cassavetes. seems to me that FDA approval really shouldn't be that hard to obtain. i mean, alternate forms of nicotine are already approved (gum, etc). plus we really don't know what's in the stuff coming in from china, so maybe some regulation could make it safer? probably not cheaper.....and probably taxed.....and probably not soon.....*sigh*

That seems like a logical system, Jim. When placing an order I always wonder if I should order another atomizer vs. another battery. Lately I've been going with the former.

This has been on my mind alot lately. And I hate to admit it, but all this FDA stuff has really dented my vaping pleasure. I just found out about these things, passed that learning curve, and BOOM, here comes the FDA and all its uncertainty.

I don't have enough funds, or time, I think to stock up.... so I'm hoping for the best.
I am going to stock mostly on attys first, juice second. But in the end I've decided that juice we will have to figure out how to make. No way around it. If you order ten gallons it'll all go bad in two years anyway. So I'm going to try to stock up mostly on atties and learn how build mods for that dreaded day- if it comes.
Law never stopped me before, why let it stop me now?

Don't get me wrong, I love to vape, but the fact that the manufactures or distributors didn't go through the proper "chain of command" to assure their products would be readily availble for the long run angers me. I've been smoke free for a month. Now that I may have to give up my ecig because of a technicality on the providers part just seems unfair.

Cass--you are not alone there at all. I have stated many times that this attidude of "take the money and run" by the manufactures without doing any of the requisite studies or making application and going for approval like they could have started 2 years ago was and is a rank travesty.
