I've been using hemp in the Drunker tank, and like it. For what it's worth, in my limited experience, it doesn't seem to wick quite as fast as silica, and it also has a sort of reedy, wooden flavor. My guess is that if your favorite eliquid is Apricot Surprise or something, hemp might not be for you. But I like basic, rough tobacco flavor and strong TH, and the hemp is quite nice for that.

Even though the hemp I got is "natural", I give it a couple of 20 minute boils first.

Thank you!!!! If I try them AND manage to get them to work...I'll post photos and let you know how they performed.

Yeal, keep us posted. I seriously doubt it will out perform cotton, but you never know until you try.

I may be wrong, but what I got from that thread was that hemp doesn't wick quite as good as cotton, but is a little more resistant to singing. It's taken me quite a bit of trial and error, but I've finally got my wick size down to where I have little or no singing between wick changes. I do change the wicks quite often though because my mixes gunk up so fast, but that's just a matter of pulling the old out, pulsing the coil a couple of times, and sliding the new in. I use the smok redux, drunker tank, dud with spin-E, and dream 804...all with cotton wicks.

Have you seen this post? He's getting some serious vaper out of his drippers lol. That's to intense for me, but it does show that if you keep cotton wet it won't burn. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...otton-wicks-rbas-suggestions.html#post9118767

Thank you for the replies! I'm reading and reading. Frankly I'm not sure there is any real benefit here for someone like me. I love the Pyrex tanks I have that use the drilled SmokeTech 510 cartos. I only ever vape at 3.7, and I prefer high resistance cartos....really high...like 2.5 to 3. But hey...at least I can say I tried it...LOL And I was able to get the SS mesh/coil setup to work...the flavor was right on but the vape just seemed to harsh for me with that low resistance.

I'm thinking that if anything a fillerless bottom coil tank would be an advantage to me since it would eliminate the safety concerns about wicking material. One thing I worry about with all this talk about boiling is fungal growth. At least I know my prefilled cartos are made under sterile conditions in a clean facility. I certainly can't say that about my own kitchen! Somewhere on ECF is a photo of my dogs licking the cutting board...RFLMAO!

Anyway...anyone have an opinion on bottom coil versus verticle coil/wick? Am I correct in thinking it has benefits without all the fiddling around hassles of the verticle RBA?
