some are saying 2, 3, or 4 hours, elsewhere i've seen maybe 6 hours or longer. find out how much juice is actually being consumed, not used, and you'll get better idea of how the batteries really fare.

yea i guess its hard to place an average on what people vape, i know myself i go thru about 1.5 ml per day,but what i do remember was that the blue trustfires only lasted about an hour maybe hour an half,if i can get 3 good strong hrs out of a imr battery , that means itll stay up above 4volts for a longer time, then i would be happy

k9-I picked some up, just haven't tried them out yet. I am waiting for my grey TF to quit on me before I start on the new version.
Guess I need to lay down the 18650 mods and pick up th 10440's.
Wanted to let you know I'm not ignoring your question.
Anyone else out there using them yet?

well the imr in theory has less energy density and runtime than a comparable icr cell, but then it isn't being as stressed as the same icr cell which should results in longer runtime if everything else were considered equal (but they're not)...what really comes of all this is ultimately a mystery until some tests are run. in the meantime it's all up to each user's vaping habits.

I ordered the updated switch, along with 6 IMR 10440s, the day David offered them on his site.
Since I use my P10s when out and about, I really never have them run down so can't compare overall run time. The difference as I see it, IMR batteries provide better results overall. The P10, on Trustfire or Ultrafire, still performed better than the standard e-cig batteries but the IMRs give it a significant bump. From my limited understanding, they hold the discharge rate longer throughout your draw. This results in increased vapor with the same duration draw.

The most noticeable impact was to the P10, but I also see the improvement in my S6s and P16.

David has all the options covered and my vote goes to IMRs.

Agreed! While I don't notice a drastic improvement in the longevity of the IMRs vs. the Trustfires with the P10, both the vapor production and the consistency of the vape is a heckuva lot better. The P10 now hits pretty much like the big boys. Since I've experienced the IMRs, there's no going back. Now to order some IMR 14500s for the S6. :D

if we're talking about the BDL IMR 10440s.... I'd wait to see what the specs are like on the AW ones when they come out...there are limits to the battery based on size after all..

first the QC on the BDL batteries isn't known to be the best...

I personally pretty much consider the BDL ones to be a sham that were made to be a quick jump on the IMR bandwagon... (I don't like the BDL 14500 IMR either)...

anyway the reason I say that is:
if you look at the specs on the BDL IMR 10440
they're 350mAh with a 3C discharge rate...
what's that mean?....
that their max drain rate is only capable of 1.05A ....(yes it's about double what it would be from a Li-Ion 10440 so yeah it's "high drain" just not high enough)
* if you calculate the max drain of the *fire 10440 Li-Ions using their on label specs (the 600mAh) ... then their max drain is 0.9A
if you work from the 350mAh their reported to truely be delivering it's 0.53A

the amp draw on a 1.5Ω LR atty at 3.7V is 2.47A...
so you're still going to get voltage sag and an overstressed battery out of the deal...

*for the record in the 14500 size the BDL max drain is at 3A where the AW is at 5A.....so the BDL is barely sufficient to cover the amp draw of that LR again...

hey joelongwood, if it means anything ive been using my s6 with only the imr 14500, they work excellent, compared to the 14500 grey protected hands down the imr

this is a great example of what we're talking about...

consider that LR atty at a 2.47A draw...
the 900mAh grey trustfires have a max drain rate of 1.3A...
even the 750mAh AW have a max drain rate of 1.5A....
so you get "voltage sag"... they don't deliver a "true" 3.7V to that LR atty...
but the AW IMR are capable of delivering up to 5A...more than that LR atty needs.. so no voltage sag..
it delivers that true 3.7V to the atty...so better hits, warmer, more vapor...
as such you may tend to hold the button for a shorter period of time (because of a more satisfying hit) so though they're lower mAh they'll appear to lst the same or longer than the 900mAh batteries....

so the IMR 10440s?... with that LR atty....imagine the performance of the 900mAh grey TF on your s6 only slightly weaker and lasting way less...

While your data and logic are solid, unfortunately - I have yet to see the AW 10440s hit the market. (Andrew promised to e-mail me as soon as he feels he has a product he is confident in enough to put the AW brand on. I haven't seen anything yet.)

I have been assuming the IMR 10440s from I purchased from David, are BDL, but they don't state brand on the label. As stated, he has been working with AW and hopes to soon have AW IMR10440s available from Super-T. Until then, our choices are limited.

I also agree with your assessment of BDL quality but as the only current 10440 high drain I know of, they are my choice for my 10440 mods. Far and above the performance of the Trustfire or Ultrafire.

even if/when AW comes out with an IMR10440, Andrew has stated that due to size and chemistry restrictions, the max capacity would be 280 mAh and a 4C/1.12A drain rate....regardless of what actually makes it onto the sticker. but i don't doubt that these will be the best option available if and when they come out.

edit: i'm not so sure those 10440s are BDL, the only site i can find that keeps coming up with the same "IMR 10440 350mAh 3.7V" is shenzen e-young, which is probably who labels them for whatever supplier. mind you, this is the same company that sells the fake ultrafire 3600 mAh 18650.

wow thats a mouthfull,i can take entire corvette apart and reassemble it, with no problem ,for some reason electrical things do confuse me, thats why im asking about the batteries, so far from i gather from all this is that the imr is a better performing battery then the blue or grey trustfire batteries, in turn i will get more useful time from the IMRS

From reading some of the feedback on them (theres some more commments on one of the other threads about the new switch ) people are getting more life out of these and better hit. Now, is that because these are better or just because the grey trustfire protected quality is so random? Only some concrete controlled testing would tell for sure. With the new AW 10440's, i wouldn't necessarily expect anymore amp output, but perhaps, given the nature of AW's, you may get more life and more consistent output from battery to battery due to the quality control.
