I had Blackberrys for years before switching to Droids, and haven't looked back. I have a Droid X and got an Incredible for the wife. I browse the droid forums a couple times a month to keep up on the latest, but refuse to upgrade till VZW releases 4G in my area. They've been saying all year that it's due in 2011, and it hasn't happened yet. Till then I'll stick with my DX.

As for streaming media, Netflix has made it much simpler than it used to be. I used to use Orb to stream content from my computer, which was convenient, but laggy. Netflix is awesome, I just hope they use the higher fees they started charging recently to expand their streaming library. Hulu Plus is another one not as many people know about. I have a subscription with them to be able to stream Hulu movies to my Roku at home, which also entitles me to stream to my phone via their app. Btw I probably would pay the subscription for either Netflix or Hulu to just use them on my phone; but I get them mainly for watching tv...the phone apps are just an added bonus.

I love streaming from Netflix! It's so much easier than having to wait for DVDs. I just subscribed to Hulu Plus last week. Unfortunately, I found out afterward that there's no Hulu Plus app. for our Visio blu-ray player. :( So, we're going to buy a new blu-ray player to put in our living room, then we'll put the other one in our bedroom.

Hey David,

I'm with Verizon and have a 4G HTC Thunderbolt. It's faster that most people's home networks. It downloads in the 24-35 mps range and uploads in the 10-18 mps range. Needless to say no problem video conferencing or streaming Netflix. I personally just prefer watching movies on a Pad on the go and no widescreen around.

All the Verizon Android 4G phones have the same operating system version so they all should have the same speeds. The only variable should be different locations if anything.

The one thing that is certain for cell phones, each month a carrier will release a new model. LOL It should also lower the prices for the Thunderbolt and other 4G phones they already have.:vapor:

I "think" all their 4Gs have the second camera for video conferencing also.

Oh Yeah, you're grandfathered in if you're already on the smartphone plan. No price increases or download limits.

The other thing is to remember to turn off wifi for 4G to take effect. Unless you have a very high speed network, your speed will be faster with 4G opposed to wifi which is limited by your network or the network your cell picks up. I have to remember to turn off wifi all the time when I'm out and about.

that's good news, was on the phone with the verizon biz account manager yesterday, they are sending me an upgrade droid bionic in the mail overnight express so I am patient and can wait another day. the local stores will probably be packed with people coming in to buy anyways. Going to be fun :)

Did I leave you speechless? Shocking..... By the way, the only shows I watch in our bedroom are those that are on Nick at Nite. :)

And I believe every word your saying vaporgal.

Every single word.

And as long as pigs can fly, I always will!
