Yes, I've been working out for 5 years or so - running and lifting weights - even while I was a smoker. I haven't had a cig in almost 2 months, and I can tell that I've got more wind than I did when I was smoking. It's not dramatic, but is noticeable.

The funny thing is that I started working out originally because I knew I would gain weight when I quit smoking. Well, I lost 40 pounds (from 205 to 165) but I never quit smoking . . . until I found vaping. And I haven't gained any weight since I quit smoking - thanks to vaping.

I run and vape lol. I used to run and smoke so hey, what's the diff? People thought I was crazy, but smoking aside, what's worse? Running or not running? P90x tear it up! Vaping and biking is a little more difficult though and I would recommend some kind of lanyard to hold on your PV in case you drop it. Nothing's worse than turning around and trying to find your stuff. Plus you look like a d-bag when you do.

You vape and bike at the same time!!! Dude your crazy. I was sucking wind so much while doing the p90x workouts I think I would have puked if I took a puff. More power to ya.

The third day is the worst. ;)

As a Marine physical fitness is a way of life. I worked out and ran well before vaping and I knew that smoking was impacting performance in a huge way. Since starting vaping I've cut 3 mins off my 3 mile time and have broken, and keep on breaking personal records with kettlebells and weight training. I hit a big slump over the winter, no surprise that I was up from 1 PAD to 1.5 PAD during the same time. After kicking the cigs the slump was destroyed.

Keep at it with the P90X. "The third day is the worst" is just a saying for the third day of soreness. That will pass and soon you will no longer wake up sore, but refreshed and feeling ready for the next workout.

Man that is a big encouragement. I am so sore its unexplainable. My triceps around my elbows hurt so bad it takes everything in me to touch my face. Its good to know that the pain will go away and not be there for the full 90 days. Getting into this workout way of life is really helping me stick with the vaping and leaving the cigarette way of life behind. Thanks for the encouraging post.

OMG, I thought you were gonna say you vape while you work out! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I went from barely making it through 5-10 minutes to a full hour now. It's amazing how quickly your lung capacity improves without those nasty things, huh? I don't think I've ever felt this healthy, even before I started smoking 30+ years ago!

Keep it up!

I probably should have titled this different. I definitely do not workout and vape at the same time. That just sounds like it would hurt.

It does. My morning cigarette was usually at 5am on the way to work for a 5:30 run. When I switches to vaping I did the same thing, vaped during my drive to work. Really, really, bad idea. My throat was so dry the burning was nearly unbearable. Now, no vaping 30 minutes before a run or workout to give time for my throat to rehydrate.

I quit smoking about three weeks ago. Two weeks ago I started running. I am amazed at one week without analogs will do to your lung capacity. I kept a link to a site for while that was supposed to be my encouragement to quit smoking. It pushed me in the right direction, but vaping made it stick - What Happens When You Quit Smoking | Quit Smoking The one flaw I found in the chart is that my sense of taste and smell are already coming back, even with the nicotine in vaping. I can smell my neighbor smoking on his deck or someone smoking in front of me at a red light.

I've found my feet and shins are giving out well before my lungs. I would have never expected that! And, I'm not exactly trim. I have about 40lb to lose so I'm carrying around a lot of extra crap. Still, I'm pushing just a little each day and doing a "Couch to 10k" program. Sept 8 is my first race day. I can't wait to cross that finish line.

Keep it up man. My wife is big into running. She has ran a few half marathons and loved every one of them. I like seeing her crossing the finish line. She quit smoking 5 years ago, starting training for a half marathon, and has been doing it ever since. She loves that I quit smoking and decided to vape and workout. Vaping can be life changing in many ways, working out was one change I never would have predicted.

Running gets a heck of a lot easier after stopping the stinkies. I ran half marathons and 10ks while I was still smoking, my reward after a run was a walk to the parking lot for a smoke break! I knew it was slowing me down, but I didn't care. Now that I've been vaping for a few weeks, I definitely notice an improvement in my lung function and I'm looking to drastically cut my half marathon time down!

Vaping has (quite literally) given me a second wind on running and I find I can actually see my running times improving with just a few weeks. Plus my after run treat is a blueberry cheesecake vape :)

Vape On!

. . . I've found my feet and shins are giving out well before my lungs. I would have never expected that! . . . .

That's what I've found too, except it's my legs. I used to have to stop jogging and walk a little ways because I was out of breath. Now, I only walk because my legs are tired.
