I play a lot of racquetball, which I started several years before I started vaping. I haven't really noticed a difference in endurance, but I wear a heart rate monitor (to tell me how many calories I burn). I've noticed that since I started vaping my resting heart rate is a bit lower, and the max heart rate I reach during an intense rally is lower. Before the max I would get to was 183, now the highest I seem to get is ~174.

A few weeks ago, at the cottage, loaded 90 wheelbarrows of topsoil, moved them about 90' and spread it out. Also leveled the driveway where the load sat for 9 months. All in 6 hrs and it was HOT. Next day into the bay and swam 5 miles. Told my wife the soil spreading, when I was smoking, would've been a 2 day job. As for the swimming- impossible while smoking.

Edit: Last Fri. helped a friend frame a 14' X 14" addition. Finished everything in one day...of course had a nailer- as a smoker couldn't have done it.

I smoked hard for 35 years, and have been a year and two months (today!) since my last cigarette. The last month or so I have become a beginning bicycle rider. I am fortunate to live near the USA's largest rail trail (converted railroad bed to bicycle trail, you could ride for 250 miles and never meet a car.

I'm new enough to biking that I don't try to vape while riding, still learning how to talk without crashing... There are benches every couple of miles, I vape when I stop to rest/drink water. I do get some funny looks from other bikers/hikers, but nobody has mentioned it.

As someone said above, I am never having to stop from being out of breath, which would have been the story for most of the rest of my life.

I run and vape lol. I used to run and smoke so hey, what's the diff? People thought I was crazy, but smoking aside, what's worse? Running or not running? P90x tear it up! Vaping and biking is a little more difficult though and I would recommend some kind of lanyard to hold on your PV in case you drop it. Nothing's worse than turning around and trying to find your stuff. Plus you look like a d-bag when you do.

Haha yup I bike to and from work and smoking while biking was way easier. And whenever you drop something on your bike, you feel like you look like a huge ......... for going back to get it. ::shrug:: Theres some psychological/sociological stuff going on there.

What best is now that I vape, I don't get winded anywhere near as bad when I'm tearing up the steep hills. The effect for me was only 3 days after quitting analogs. Amazing and i still can't believe it.

I have always had a desire to workout and get back into shape. I started a transformation challenge at the beginning of this year and trying to workout and be a smoker just does not work for me. It is one thing that lead me back to vaping- the desire to quit smoking so that I could feel I was getting a more effective workout.

I always used the smoking as an excuse to not workout. I figured I was having so much trouble with it due to smoking. I am starting a new challenge on Monday and I feel like this time I am going to make it happen with no more excuses!

I have noticed since cutting down to 2 or 3 cigarettes a day (down from 20) there is a big difference in how much air I can take into my lungs. I test it sometimes.

We should have a separate area for vapers that exercise and workout. Anyone?

Not lifting weights, but it really helped with conditioning with my BJJ. It's much longer before I get to that point where you feel like you're actually not getting enough oxygen into your body for the output of work you're doing. Basically it takes longer for me to feel like there is not enough air in the atmosphere left for me to breath :)

bebeau25, the Katy Trail has been there since 1870 as an early railroad. I am a beginning bicycle rider and am fortunate to live a few minutes away from a trailhead. You could ride it for 250 miles, and never see a car.

The bike is several years old and worn, as am I. I bought it used and cheap, I am trying to fix up both the bike and myself. If I can keep repairing the damage (minimal on the bike, I smoked hard for 35 years) and keep fixing us both up? I hope I can keep doing it.

It has been hot in Midwest USA, a few days ago I paused in this old railroad tunnel. 15 deg F. cooler than the ambient temps, a good place for a break!

Have any of you guys or gals started working out since quitting smoking? I started doing P90X yesterday. Holy Cow am I sore. I was surprised that I could do it after being a smoker for almost 20 years. I love it that I can workout and then go vape without the worries that cigarettes give you.

I vape when on the machines and working out. Get some strange looks and some employees ask me what I am doing. I just state it is a medical device to help my breathing and well being and they haven't stopped me yet. How is P90X?

P90X is great. I'm having so much fun being able to do these intense workouts when before I would get winded walking up a long flight of stairs. Don't think I could do it and vape at the same time though.
