Today I received my order of the Anyvape Davide Duo , well is not Duo but it is the Davide and Davide Mini so ... here is the dynamic duo vs the competition and each other.
First they went trough a good Ultrasonic bath like all my clearo's do and first impressions :
Disclaimer : I didn't used any of the metal drip-tips , I only used Nylon and Silicone drip-tips on all tanks.
Looks : They look beutifull , maybe Kanger PT-II looks a tad more modern but Davide looks more ... Italian ? Winner PT-2 (kinda)
Build quality : First of all I was impressed how nice they're build , the metal parts are light and well machined. The assembly goes in smooth and
unlike the PT II they have a hard stop for the screw so no over-tightening in the Davide and they feel very solid. Winner Davide Duo.
coils : Skipped the stock coils as I didn't wanted to ruin my first impression so i used a perfectly rebuilt Pro-tank coil. Winner None... well myself because my coils are AWESOME.
Loading aka Filling : SO here I do have a problem with the Duo , mostly with Mini , why , the filling holes are pretty small unlike PT II you have to pay attention where you place the dripper spout , especially in the Mini where a needle top is a good ideea.
First Vape : Loaded up with Juggy's 4x4 and proceeded to vape :
1. Anyvape Davide :
Vape production : Lots of vape , billows , so vape production very nice
Draw : Very nice , I used my SVD with the ring , when ring fully down the draw in lose , not too lose. I un-screwed the ring until it touched the base of the atty and draw got tigh
but not too tight , I would say between the two positions of the ring you will find one to please.
Taste : Taste is good , with a warmish vape reminds me of the T3s slightly muted when compared with an Evod but still good.
2. Davide Mini :
Vape production : Lots of vape , billows , I would say the best I ever had or darn close to the best.
Draw : Somewhere in between the two positions in the big boy Davide. There is no tweaking here so I would say I'm happy with it.
Taste : VERY VERY VERY good , taste is better than Evod , close to a dripping atty. I am super impressed by it.
3.Kanger ProTank II: I took the base from Davide and place it on the PT-II which cost-ed about what I paid for the Duo.
ProTank Ii with the Original base it SUCKED badly , draw was tight , shorting on all my APV's... a disaster.
Draw : Houston we have Draw... I was so surprised , draw is the same as with Davide but... well there are no butts here is the same
Vape production : Lots of vape, same as Big Davide .
Taste : well same as Davide but for almost double the price and lots of aggravation.
Winner in the "First Vape" category ... Draw ? Not really , I would say Davide Mini had the best vape , taste vapor production and all
followed by the Big Davide , with good vapor production, tweak-able draw but taste while is still very good is a tad under the Mini.
The Last IMHO came PT II...why because It needed the Davide base to perform and costed me almost double and honestly construction wise
I like the Davide better.
Overall : I would say a draw between the two Davide balancing the taste with convenience , I will use both equally.
PT II might go to the trade/sale block.
Here is the Surprise :
