Hi all,
Looking for some thoughts/advice/comments from those with experience with these PVs. As I'm now officially an ex-smoker, I'm looking to move on from a KR808 system to something that suits me better.
At the moment, my top choices are:
1. Riva 510
2. Provari (or maybe just the the Provape-1; not sure I care all that much about variable voltage)
3. One of the Apex Alpha models with the RES- Yeah, uber-expensive, but as it's my birthday coming up, what better way to celebrate quitting smoking than with what appears to be an incredibly well-designed device!
Here's what's important to me, and why:
1. Battery life. I'm simply not interested in charging batteries over and over again. Not only is it a pain in the .... but it takes such a toll on the batts themselves. I'm not a chain vapor, but not a light vapor either, so looking for something that would last about a day.
2. Durability- I'm attracted to the Provape and Apex designs for the idea of having only to replace the internal battery eventually instead of the whole device (like one would for the Riva).
3. 510 connection for versatility in attys, cartos, etc. Ideally I'd like something I don't have to fill too often, so I'm willing to play around quite a bit with cartos, etc.
4. Ideally, want to get away from carts & cartos filled with batting/foam, as I have health concerns about these fillers- just seems like a bad idea to me. NOT interested in direct dripping a whole lot; just doesn't suit my lifestyle.
5. Very interested in clearomizers and larger tank style cartos, for reason 4 above. Extremely interested in the RES system of the Apex Alpha models- as it's essentially a large porous ceramic cartridge- thus solving the batting issue- and perhaps making cleaning easier too. Though this still would involve some dripping, I'm thinking I could supplement with clearomizers- does that make sense? Wondering if I could do that or if I'm missing something about the Alphas. (One other thought in this department- wouldn't it be great if there was such a thing as a clear carto that was made of clear ceramic instead of plastic? Easier cleaning, non-porous, heat resistant, no plastic-leaching issues? Maybe it exists and I'm not aware.)
6. I actually prefer automatic batteries- but from what I can tell I'm probably out of luck in that department, and they may just be a bad idea for leakage and other technical issues. I think I can get over it.
But if you know otherwise, let me know!
Thoughts? Comments? Advice? Other model suggestions? While I think the eGo/Tornado/etc. tank systems are a good idea, I'm rather put off by all the futzing it seems people have had to do to deal with leaks, burnt taste; other problems. Additionally, I'm not aware of an eGo type model that has excellent battery life. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Spent a good deal of time watching reviews at e-cig-reviews.com, which I found very helpful, but any additional advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a million in advance!
