Microsoft battles Apple's attempt to patent 'App Store' - The Hill's Hillicon Valley

Microsoft is pushing back against Apple's claim to the name "App Store" currently used by Apple's online retail service.
Microsoft asked the Patent and Trademark Office to http://www.google.com/hostednews/af...ocId=CNG.9cf08371e3c2861766aa55487400945a.101deny Apple's request to patent the phrase this week. Apple's online store for iPhone, iPad and iPod software applications has been hugely popular since its introduction in 2008, prompting the firm to extend the platform to desktop and laptop users last week.

Let's forget that 'App Store' is kind of generic, heh Mr Jobs?

And this doesn't surprise me apple has gotten very hostile ever since android operating systems have blown them out of the water

Tablets with android os- bigger selection and cheaper than ipad
There's a dell laptop with a rotating screen that turns it into a tablet with android os
