As the title states, what is the best voltage setting for a Kanger Protank with a 1.8ohm atomizer? I'm using an Ego-c Twist and I'd like to get as much vapor as possible without burning out the atomizer. Any advice would be appreciated.

well its all personal preference. do you like the vapor warm? do you like a good thump throat hit? lots of people do 5v on 1.8ohm but that may be pushing it. try it and see how high you like it. if it tastes burnt you went too high. we cant tell you what voltage to set it at.
I know it's personal preference, but I was just wondering if there was a mark I should stay under to avoid burning out the atomizer too quickly.
you wont burn it out. plus you know when its going to be a dry hit. you can hear it and you can feel its going to be dry. just don't keep burning it up. if its too high add some more juice and back it down. the range is huge so 3.0v-5.0v really. I caution DO NOT inhale if you feel a dry hit coming on. it will be the nastiest taste in the world.

First of all, the Twist can't reach 5v--4.8v is the limit. 
That said, the recommended wattage is somewhere between 4.5-8.5 watts.
With a 1.8Ω coil, start at 3.4v (6.4 watts) or so and see how you like it. You can always adjust up or down according to taste.

I too have wondered this. I have done a lot of expermenting with it. So far I have come up with 3.2-3.4 volts on my ego twist with the mini protank 2 and a 1.8ohm coil. Vaping 50/50 juice. Nice vape not tons of vapor but more than enough for me.
The general rule is around 2 volts higher than the ohms. 1.8 ohms = 3.8 volts.

I found Protanks don't like too high a voltage but then i only use 100% VG.

My experience with Kanger Pro Tank 2 is that after about 4.0 volts, the juice cannot wick fast enough, creating a burnt taste.
There's no such thing as a set or appropriate voltage. The best advice for voltage and coils would be, add two volts to the value of the resistance, and you can turn it up or down to find that sweet spot..so 3.8 Volts. Since it is a clearomizer, I would probably be turning it down, but you never know. A lot of flavors will need a different voltage level. Just find the one that works for you. You'll know if it's too high or low.

I think this is more a personal preference. I have a kanger 1.8ohm running at 4.7V all the time and never have any problems with it. My atomizers don't seem to wear out too quickly either. Just try a range of voltage to see what gives the best throat hit for your liking at the lowest voltage and your set to go!
