i thought i was being smart, paying for dental insurance thru my employer for 15 months, i went for one cleaning a little over a year ago, and it was only $25. so this past december i started having pain from a couple cavities that were discovered at my previous cleaning. i called, set up appt and took the day off work. got to the dentist and they told me my employers insurer (aetna) had moved me to a different dental office, a state run, bottom of the barrel place. i was livid, but also in mild pain, so i left and tried to get an appt at the state run place. when i called they said there was a 6 week waiting list!! sonofgun!!!! in 2 weeks i was off my dental insurance!! i called the insurance agency fuming, they asked if i was in pain, i said slightly, they said it didnt constitute emergency dental care and i was **** outta luck unles i renewed for another year.
CRIMINAL!!! paid 4-500 dollars for dental insurance to get jacked around and receive nothing but a 25$ cleaning.
i still need them filled.....

I was in sever pain for a long time. went through a very similar thing with my employee insurance. Just a cruel hoax.

Thanks to the new laws, you can get covered again without penalties. (And you might not need insurance as much to begin with. It was pretty startling the first time my rx was free.) It is somewhat ironic - now that the wif has the option of being out of work more than a couple months, she's got a job she's super happy with. She spent years working for one of the worst, most abusive bosses I've ever seen because she couldn't risk losing insurance. She'd never have been able to get it back.

Insurance companies are not happy with fifty billion in profits. They want a hundred billion and they will still say they are going broke and our government (us) will still subsidize them.
