Notice where apv is underlined in your post. Hover the mouse over it for the definition.

it just says its an advanced personal vaporizer, aka mod.
and what does that have to do with my question?

mechanical mod? beware proper usage required - dont want anything to blow up on you

i am aware of my battery safety. im currently using sony 30A batteries.

Just to save you a little time, when it comes to APV's, the only ones you're going to find with no minimum resistance are mechs, such as the Nemesis. Anything that is regulated (i.e. VV/VW - which use a control chip) is going to have a minimum resistance.

For most APV's, the minimum resistance is going to be 1.2/1.3ohms. If you go with a DNA 20/30 based mod, you can drop that down on into the sub-ohm territory, but there's still a minimum (the DNA30, for instance, is .5 ohms IIRC).

If you want the ability to run your own coils at whatever resistance you like, stick with the Nemesis or a similar mech mod.

dam. that sucks.
i like running 0.6 ohm dual coils.

i suppose i can just build 1.2 ohm coils and run it at higher watts/voltage?

It's just the nature of the beast :). Mech mods simply sub-ohm better than regulated for the time being. The DNA 30 is a step in the right direction towards changing that, but with a .5 ohm limit, it's not quite there and I don't personally like pushing electronics to their limits as something tends to always go wrong.

You can run a 1.2 ohm coil at a higher wattage, yes. How how high depends on the limits of your device. I normally run them at 10-12 watts on my SVD, but for all other purposes, I use my Nemesis and run .5-.8 ohm coils.

I enjoy both regulated and mechanical mods. On my Nemi my current build is a .3 ohm dual twisted vertical mounted micro coil, also using the Sony 30 amp batteries. Like it a lot, but also enjoy my .8-1.9 ohm builds too. I am in the process of upping my vape game with the anticipated arrival of a DNA30 mod, a 26650 mech mod using 50 amp Sony's, and a VV dual 26500 box mod, that has a 6 amp limit, adjustable up to 8.4 volts and a 50 watt max output. Will be interesting to explore the vape limits of my current rba's and to try out a dripper also.

Still hoping that Evolv will develop a kick3 with a 30 watt output, put will have to settle for the DNA30 for now. lol.

what is an apv with no minimum resistance?
is there even such a thing?

i was going to purchase the vamo and it said the minimum resistance is 1.2 ohms.
i don't want to spend too much money on the apv because my main drive will be my nemesis.

please help!
thanks.

This would be almost any mechanical APV out there. The reason the Vamo will not drive anything below 1.2Ω is because of the electronics inside it. It just won't fire below that resistance. Since you seem to enjoy .6Ω dual coils, you should stick with the mechanical device... FYI... your Nemesis is an APV....

Should i buy a kick 2 or a vamo and keep my ohms higher?

I am aware that the kick 2 has a 0.5 ohm minimum resistance but 0.5 ohm should be fine.

The Kick 2 will fire it, but I wouldn't really push it to its limits.

There's really no reason, IMO, to get a Kick 2, if you're going to sub-ohm. You can run a .5 ohm build on any mech without having to worry about another piece of hardware. The Kick 2 is really more so beneficial for those wanting to run higher resistance coils on a mech since a mech relies on direct voltage and thus, doesn't fire higher resistance coils as well as a regulated device would.
