Aqua builds?

I was hoping to see some Aqua builds.

I followed the KFL/R91 trend on here and after a lot of reading and experimenting I finally got it nailed down. AT first it was amazing, than I started getting gurgle, flooding, then burned hits. I tried various coil configs, and wick set ups and I got it nailed down. I can't kill it.

But I did it through a lot of reading on ECF... You guys (and gals, that is just Great Lakes Region talk for y'all) have really been my platform for growth (2 months ago I had Blu, now I am rocking Nemesis with RDAs and RBAs) and I really only come here for advice.

So now I implore you ECFers, can we get some Aqua build discussion going? I built it very simply, with dual coils at .7 ohm total load, and wicked cotton down into the channels flush with the bottom of the tank (below the deck) as it is all I have seen on building it. I don't have any issues with gurgle or flooding after initial clearing after a refill, but the flavor is really flat on my draw. I get big aftertaste, so I know the potential is there, but I am missing something.

I am afraid of flooding the air holes. I have considered laying some wick on top of the coils, since Truman's long wick method is so flavorful on the Kayfun I thought it might translate well into the Aqua.

So please, share your Aqua builds and advice!

mine came in today. was hoping to find some pics of dual mcs.
still searchin

I'm using dual MCs in my Aqua right now. Not terribly impressed. In all honesty, I could have almost bought 2 Russians or KFL+s for the price of the Aqua, and honestly the KFL+/Russian is, IMO worth twice what the Aqua is at this point to me.

My personal preference with the aqua is to take a 7/64" drill bit and 28g kanthal A-1 and do 7 wrap microcoils (dual). This gives me .75 ohms. Then using 2mm ekowool I thread it through on both sides, it ends up being a little loose in the coil but that doesn't seem to make a huge difference. Trim the coils flush with the bottom (horizontal) channels. tuck them in as deep as you can, prime with juice, screw on the chimney and tank fill and vape away! I get about the best flavor I've found from the aqua, sorry I don't have pics phone is on the fritz..

Those would fall into the regular coil category... If you want to do micro's try using a 1/16" bit or a 17ga needle...

28ga. 1/16" 12 wrap 1.04Ω
