Hello all, I carry a kfl+ and an aqua to work but the aqua is taking a break....
I have been looking for info on parts all over google but haven't found anything yet. I had my aqua at work and noticed a really bad flavor. It surprised me because the device has been fantastic for months till now. I got home and took it apart and noticed the insulator under the positive post was cooked. this device was a primary tank I carried daily. If anyone has a known fix or knows where a replacement can be purchased I would appreciate it. I could not figure the short or reason why the part failed. Thanks a bunch.

I burned my insulator when my mech autofired under its own weight one time when the switch loosened up on me. I used the insulator from a ProTank head. It is a smidge smaller than I ideally wish it was but so far it works great. The hardest part of the fix was removing the old melted plastic. Others have said that the rubber that 510 cartomizers come in can work as well. If you don't get enough responses in this thread try the main aqua clone thread. Lots of people frequent that thread.

Do you have an idea on why the insulator may have melted in the first place?

I can easily snag a protank head on the way home, awesomeness. Uh I really don't have a clue what created the short. And yes you are a million percent correct when you say the insulator removal is the hardest part. I heated it up a bit with a torch and tapped the positive post out gently. Dug the insulator out with a blunt needle tip.

I was actually thinking about modifying the air holes and delrin since it was disassembled but was gonna hold off till I found a replacement part. Thanks again.

All that and a bag of chips. Wow its back and I wanted to test it so the build I put in it atm is currently .3 and some change (yup I was safe ty vtc4). I went to my local brick and mortar and bought a pt coil head and I also bought an iclear 30b head. I had some experience with the 30b due to a friend I got vaping. the pt insulator fits into the 30b insulator. The 510 pin is damn close to being perfect. This seems like a solid fix but will try to report back in a month or so.

I think initial problem was due to post being too tight.

Ty again great tip, glad to be apart of forums that help one another.
