AR Mech Mod Magnets

Hello everyone...

This is my first post, so sorry if it is weird.

I just purchased my first mech mod from Vapor Hub, which has amazing deals on their AR mods right now, and was not able to upgrade to the magnet switch as they are out of the magnets. I have been searching online for other shops that might have some for the device, but keep coming up empty.

I was wondering if anyone knew the size and specification on the magnets for the switch, so I could possibly track some down to plate and install myself.

Thank you!

I was unable to locate any with a quick Google search. You may wish to write Vapor Hub and see if they're going to re-order and, if not, where they get them. You could also take the button apart, measure the diameter of the cap and stem, and simply order some rare earth ring magnets in that size or approximately. FYI, rare earth magnets are strong, and fragile. When you get them they'll be stuck together. Don't try to pry them apart. If you're successful and then let them snap back together whatever body part may be in between them will not be happy, and if you don't get pinched, one or both of them will shatter when they hit together again. Instead, slide them apart like pushing two coins away from each other between your thumb and finger. If they're too strong to do so, put the stack against the edge of a table so the lower magnet is blocked and slide the top one off onto the table. You are free to ask me how I know all this, if you like.

Welcome to the board.

Thank you so much BrotherBob and suprtrkr!

I will defiantly take a look at getting the Rare Earth Magnets. I found some AR Magnets off of another thread I I posted, but it would cost more to ship them then what they are worth themselves. I've got some hobby shops and a few places around town that I have gotten RE Magnets from before for small motors and things, I will take a look and see what I can find.

Thanks again!
