are all batteries rechargeable?

No they must be a rechargeable batt. I have been useing a lot of cell phone batts but you need to use a diode to protect source and restors to get voltage down to batt specs not to over charge batt. I have got some cell phone batts 3.6v to go as high as 4.6v but this will decrese the life of batts, see Two cell phone battery mod.
