Hi all,

I'm a newbie here and appreciate the existence of this forum!

As a newcomer to e-smoking who wants to use (preferably *completely*) U.S.-manufactured e-pipes -- and, later on, maybe e-cigs, too -- I have a question: are there any e-pipes that are wholly made in the USA? I mean, both the device as well as the juice. I already know of Amerismoke but, unfortunately, it seems they don't manufacture e-pipes, just e-cigs.

Any help someone could offer would be appreciated!

Thanks for your reply.

Actually, I have concerns on *both* counts.

(Incidentally, I have already seen reports regarding the internal plastics in some China-made e-cigs actually burning. I would not relish inhaling e-cig juice vapor mixed with the smoke of smoldering plastic! I've read and seen quite enough reports already about substandard Chinese products imported into the U.S. to not be wary of buying/using products made in China, especially ones which have contact with the body in their usage.)

Incidentally, I have already seen reports regarding the internal plastics in some China-made e-cigs actually burning.

I saw a thread on this the other day. Someone was claiming they are melting their 510 carts. I have gotten my atty so hot chain vaping that i had to put it down for fear of burning my hand on it. And yet, no melting plastic.

I wonder if those who are melting plastic are using an incorrect bridge to cart placement? Anyone have thought on this?

As to the electronic pipes, I did a little research on them a couple months ago. If I remember correctly, there are only really two models. One is very expensive and has good reviews the other is around 60-100 dollars depending on the reseller and has bad reviews. Both I believe were made in china.

EDIT: Here I went and found a link to a couple of sites selling the 601:

Eastmall

Big Box Store

I guess I'd still stick with my initial concern for Chinese juice but not hardware. American's can make bad batches of hardware as easily as other countries. If it's a design problem, word will get out, and if it's not, things like that happen. The world's an imperfect place. If the hardware melts or malfunctions, it's noticeable. If the juice has dioxin or PCB's contaminating it, it's less noticeable without the eventual autopsy. I'd probably feel differently if I actually had a gas-spectrometer, instead of just liking to tell people I do.

Btw, to answer your original question, I have no idea if there's American hardware. I would suspect there's not, given the state of the world today. Everything's intermingled. My buy American Ford sedan was assembled in Mexico using parts from Asia. Go figure.

Besides home made there really isnt any companies making atomizers here in the USA. There are some companies that make the battery casing. But the switches and electronics inside are made in china. Also your not going to find a American made battery. Companies here in the states just cant compete with the wages paid to Chinese workers. The average wage for a Chinese worker is around 24 cents a hour. So basically if you want American made your going to have to build it your self and even then you will have more then likely use parts made in china.

I was telling my stepson today how my parents got an electric can opener as a wedding gift 45 years ago. It outlasted their marriage. My father still uses it today. Yesterday I opened a can of tuna with a hand crank can opener because every damn electric one I purchase breaks on me within a year, even expensive ones. Also, Ive worked as a machinist for nearly 15 years and I see what my different bosses have sent out the door because they didn't want to lose money on the product. Let's just say I would never buy a Ford again based on the parts I saw them pass through as "good" parts. And I told my entire family not to fly ANYWHERE for two years at one point due to landing gear parts I saw my boss pass through.

American made means nothing anymore.

As far as Chinese juice, I personally like Dekang juice. Ive moved on to Tasty Vapor and Vaporbomb since then but Dekang RY4 is still very good.

As far as malfunctioning hardware, yeah theres been a lot of reports of hardware thats dead on arrival, but thats usually easily replaced if you choose a reputable retailer. Melting I honestly suspect is the fault of the user.
