Are cartomizer tanks for 808D and 510 interchangeable?

I have read that drip tips are interchangeable, but are the tanks? If I buy 808D tank cartos will they fit the same into the tanks that sell with 510 cartos? And vise versa.

I have Vamo and many 808D batts/mods and right now use an adapter to put my 808s on the Vamo. If I can get away with buying 510 tanks and use them on my 808s without an adapter that would be awesome. I just see so many more options for 510s and would like to tap into it.

In theory they should be. The cartomizer tube is the same dimensions. As long as it sticks out of the bottom of the tank enough to allow air flow it should work fine, but that might depend on the particular tank

As above, the diameter of 808 cartos and 510 cartos are the same. Cartos for both come in both a 35mm & 45mm length, so depending upon the length of your cartotank choose appropriately. Or vice versa.
