Are e cigarettes really safer?

Hey everyone,

So I just ordered my ecigarette kit a few days ago, and am waiting for it to arrive. I'm been a smoker for about seven years. I'm also a singer, which is why I wanted to switch to ecigarettes because I figured they'd be easier on my lungs and voice. I just wanted to get some feedback from other esmokers. Are ecigarettes actually less harsh? Do you cough less, or find that you can breathe easier than you could with regular cigarettes? Ultimately, I want to quit altogether, but it's so hard to give up the habit. I'm hoping this approach will actually work. Any positive feedback anyone can give would be great. I'd like to hear it from actual users, and not just websites trying to lure in customers. Thanks!

Terrah

I would definitely agree that it will depend on what carts / juice you use. Some of that stuff is really stout!! As I found out the hard way a couple of times... lol

However, I can also say that after 2 years of vaping that you will not be sorry in your decision barring any allergies or some rareity that is always possible with anything these days.

Within the first 6 months I lost my morning cough and constant *ahem*s throughout the day, and at this point I feel much better than I ever thought I would. E-cigs have also been a huge benefit to my epilepsy compared to regulare ciggies so I can't give them enough kudos.

I hope it all works out for the best for you. If / when you get one, don't forget to read up on things here. Some models especially require a little cleaning at first, may have a bit of funny taste from shipping primer materials, etc. So just take your time and pick out what sounds good to you.

Take care,
- Hap

Propylene Glycol may dry your throat a bit. So you may want to try a vegetable glycerin based juice if it bothers you. Also, I keep a menthol based juice near. I drop a couple of drops on the atomizer occasionally--Very soothing to the throat.

But is vaping healthier than smoking? My word yes. You will see all kinds of improvements once you switch. I don't need studies done, I can feel it. Vastly so!

Surely it's safer. There's a couple of laboratories tested them (as I remember it) found nothing to worry about--especially when you put e-cigs up against tobacco.

All in all, it beats me. BUT I've vaporing, and have been for about a month--by Christmas I should be able to quit without worry of returning to .... logs.

I've only been vaping for 3 weeks and smoked my last tobacco cigarette on my 3rd day of vaping. The improvements to my health are already vast: less wheezing, less coughing, able to breathe deeper (most smokers breathe very shallow breaths), better-tasting and better-smelling breath, feel cleaner.

Plus my doctor is thrilled that I've quit smoking -- about the worst thing anyone can do to themselves, let alone someone who has lupus.

E-cigs are not usually marketed as a smoking cessation device, but many forum members here will testify that they work. After smoking for over 38 years, and trying to quit at least a dozen times per year for the last 25 years or so, I can add my testimony as well.

Cigarettes contain anywhere from 4,000 - 10,000 poisonous chemicals (depending on which study you read). So I have to say unequivocally YES, e-cigs are safer than tobacco cigarettes.

Welcome to the forum! :D
