Are pilot atomisers supposed to get super hot?

I'll take a 5 second drag and it's already really hot. Is this how it's supposed to be?

are u sure nothing is setting off the electro magnetic switch and is setting off the atomizer by itself?

It should feel hot. This is what's going on inside when you drag on it.

FYI: Related thread here, that referenced this thread, on page 7. Temperature appears to be a concern relative to VG / glycerine.... high temps cause it to break down into acrolein.

the best hitting cigs all get very hot. best to space out drags a bit to allow a tad of cooling.they do cool pretty fast. just vape it casually, and dont chain hit it fast...the liquid needs a bit of time to wick from the cart to the coil anyway.

Be glad yours gets hot, means it working at it's prime. Just make sure it stays moist.

Oh and yes, the Pilot atomizers do get really hot.
