I've been using standard e-cigs with cartridges for over 6 weeks now.

Last week, I got a long black battery from V2 together with one of these refillable EX Blanks: V2Cigs EX Blanks (3-Pack) - V2Cigs UK
I quite like using it, and the EX blank also fits on the SmartCigs and JacVapour batteries that I have.

I'd like to get some more of these refillable 'things' but think the V2 price of £13.95 for a pack of 3 is a bit steep.

Looking on the JacVapour site, I see some called Mini V3i tanks which look the same, and are £10.69 for 3
Mini V3i Tanks (Short Wick) - CARTOMISERS/TANKS - All Products

Are the JacVapour ones basically the same thing, and do other retailers call them CE4 cartomisers?

Oh dear.

I expect the JacVapour ones will be quite good, and (probably) essentially the same.

They will be similar to CE4 clearomisers, but standard CE4s won't fit on your kit.

Welcome to the world of KR808. £3.50 for non-rebuildable clearomisers... ouch, that is going to hurt when you start totaling up your running costs.

Thank you so much for the fast response :)

I tried a few different standard e-cigs before finding what I liked best (V2 & GreenSmoke), but think I'm allergic to PG, as I've had what I can only describe as a few asthma attacks in the past two weeks - only way to find out is to try VG, and the easiest way to do that was order the EX blank & long battery from V2, plus a battery, refillable cartridges a few liquids from JacVapour.
I filled the EX blank last night and have used it since - so far, so good.

I was never too keen on using anything more sophisticated or rebuildable, so using refillable cartridges or clearomisers with some liquid is going to be cheaper than pre-filled cartridges anyway.

Compared to what cigarettes were costing me, it's brilliant ...once I get sorted with what's best for me to use.
I'll order some of those cheaper ones from JacVapour.

Two things: does this type of clearomisers have a name/type number, and would you know of any other supplier of this type ?

Sorry to hear that. Maybe VG is the answer.

Very true, can't argue. :) (Although for me, personally, a disposable clearomiser for £3.50 won't last as long as 2 x £1 cartomisers, and cartomizers tend not to have "issues" with leaks or burnt-out coils)

myepack do an 808 clearomiser, I doubt it's cheaper.

There is an adapter that will convert 510 clearomisers (that's the standard fit) to go on 808 batteries. Trouble is, they are so rare in the UK, I never found one in 1 year of trying. You can get them anywhere more or less in the USA. It was not being able to use 808 batteries with all the latest tanks that in the end let to me throwing away all my kit and starting again. Hence my reticence to approve of anything JacVapour.

However, you talk a lot of sense. If your scheme works well it's always going to be cheaper than smoking. Everything on the V2 e-cigs website is very, very expensive, so if JacVapour beat them on price and service, go for it. :)

I'm so hoping! Got this far - amazingly! - would hate to fail now.

By 'cartomisers', do you men the refillable version of the standard cartridges I've been using until now - come in packs of 5 usually?
If that's so, then all the better!

Think I found it: Kanger E Smart Clearomiser - Clearomizers £3.49 each if that's the one

Well, I never mind too much if I need to order stuff from the US occasionally - I'm thinking adapters don't need replacing often?
Whatever, perhaps I need to find out first if the VG causes me any problems

Yes, I'll do that, thank you for your help. Can use the discount code there too.

By cartomizers, I use these on 808 mini look-a-like ecigs.

They need filling but they seem to work out good value.

BLANK CARTOMIZER - Cartomizers

I tend to have 2 or 3 ready filled. Value-wise, compared to clearomisers, one would expect them to be less good, but that depends on how long they last. They would fit on any 808 battery.

If ever you want to make the move over to 510/Ego kit then a good comparison set would be one of the eVod starter kits which are pretty good, a breeze to fill and clean and you can even rebuild the heads if you wanted to try out rebuilding and the replacement heads are very cheap. I only say that as from experience an eVod tank is much more effective and tastes nicer than a CE variant, half the CE's I ever used were burny within a day of using but each to their own :D

Some Chinese makers also do a 510-X which is the basic 510 threaded cig-a-like battery, very stealth and low profile and that's what you usually get with those "offers" in the papers and on the web, some however try and set you up to pay a recurring fee, it is one of my pet hates because the cartridges cost about a dollar and some companies are charging nearly thirty quid for a few dollars worth of stuff :(

Thanks.
I do prefer the slim cigarette type batteries, and also the disposable type cartridges or clearomisers.
I had a look for the 510 X types, but most seem to have manual batteries. I did see one automatic at a company called eVape, but couldn't see which transparent clearomisers fit on it - it comes with some black cartridge type ones in the starter kit.

It's not a problem though - I have 8 different batteries now from various starter kits: Jac, V2, SmartCigs & GreenSmoke.
I've got a few EX refillable cartomizers, and am currently using the Jac & V2 batteries with them while trying VG liquid. So far I seem to be tolerating the VG OK.
I also have some refillable empty cartridges too.

Well, I just ordered an eVod 1000 battery and cartomizer. The starter kit containing two batteries etc. would have been better, but I wanted the longer battery.
Thought I may as well try it seeing it looks like I don't have any problems with VG liquid.

I did get some more clearomisers to fit my other batteries - can't say they're as consistently good as I found pre-filled cartridges, but mostly pretty good. They seem to have spells of being a bit unresponsive and then go back to being fine!

I was looking on the Cloud9 site recently and saw they had a lot of clearomisers, but was totally lost as to whether any would be a fit for my V2/SmartCig/JacVapour batteries.
I emailed them and got a reply from Keith who asked for a picture of the threads, and then gave me two options: an adapter 901 to 510 adapter - Cloud 9 Vaping, together with eSmart cartomizers, or the Elegance cartomizer which fits without an adapter (5 for £7.95 while they still have them).
Brilliant! Got all three and they fit the batteries fine.

I also got a free VapeOnly BCC clearomiser which is a current offer included with orders over £20 while stocks last.
