Those Liquids Appear to be Contaminated. Don't vape them, you've definitely got a problem there. That is not normal and nothing I've bought from vape Wild or any other vendor has ever looked like that. What are those flavors?

I'm seriously stumped here. I can't imagine how Vape Wild would knowingly decide to start using oil based flavors. Something is majorly amiss.

I sent VW CS a message alerting them to what's being discussed in this thread. Hopefully they'll be here with an explanation. At any rate, I'm sure that all you have to do is ask, and they'll happily replace it.

I should have specified that the pictures are from another forum and are not mine. I tagged it to your quote to show that it seems that VW does use oil based flavorings. Sorry for the confusion. I just now check again with live chat and again I was told that the flavorings are oil based. Again, I don't know too much about the whole oil based liquid and health issue thing. So is it ok to vape certain oil based flavorings or are all of them bad?

I do not know the specific medical issues regarding vaping oil-based liquids. However, people apparently do so regularly with *other substances*. Personally, I would not and do not vape oil based flavorings, period. I can't see oil being readily absorbed by the lungs, and do not want it in mine. I also stay away from flavorings that contain any form of natural sugar (ie: some of Flavor West's). In fact, I'd be more concerned about vaping sugar syrup than acetoin, since there is high suspicion that the vapor from caramelized sugar may be carcinogenic. Notwithstanding that it gunks up coils. Bummer, really, there are several flavors I love (FW yellow cake and Fruity Flakes are 2) that have sugar.

This (the sugar, not oil) is why I moved on from Vape Wild and all other pre-mixed vendors, though it's through no direct fault of theirs. I know Vape Wild uses FW in at least some of their liquids, as do the majority of budget juice vendors. There's no way around it...it's what they use because it's the cheapest, and they're passing the savings on to consumers. I also use certain FW extracts in my DIY, but only the ones that don't contain sugar. I can't be positive what extracts a pre-mixed juice contains, so I prefer to stick with liquid I have total control over.

I should have specified that the pictures are from another forum and are not mine.

Yeah, it would have been nice if you'd specified that before I went out of my way to help you out. Now I have a ticket in with VW that has no basis in fact, just some random image of an unknown liquid posted by an unknown person on some unknown forum. I really don't appreciate being misled. Lesson Learned.

I asked, straight up..."Are your flavorings oil based?" The response was as I posted above, word for word. It's the answer I was expecting. No company, let alone one as large and developed as Vape Wild, would use oil based extracts to make eliquid. We don't use them in DIY either, as they're well-known to be dangerous. It just isn't done. Water soluble isn't even a debatable issue like acetoin/diacetyl, or natural sugar. It's a must, can't get around it. Oil is within the realm of perfumery and aromatherapy (essential oils), but it has no place in vaping, and there is no thread I'm aware of on this or any other DIY forum that even attempts to debate the issue.

Either you received 2x incorrect answers from 2x uninformed reps, or you phrased your question in a confusing way. That photo you posted could be from anywhere, and Christ only knows the original hows and whys surrounding it. To me it appears like someone dumped mineral (baby) oil into some 30 ml bottles for whatever crazy reason. To back up an unsubstantiated claim. To start a rumor (worked), to screw with somebody's mind...who knows?

If you ever get liquid from anywhere that looks like what's in the photos, don't vape it. Throw it out or throw it into the face of whoever sold it to you, but Don't Vape Oil.

Hi, I was wondering if the flavorings used here are water soluble or oil based?

ϟAngieϟ (Fri, 4/22/2016, 02:38:34 pm)
Oil

(Fri, 4/22/2016, 02:38:43 pm)
ok, thanks

I want to thank jambi. If not for your contact with VW I would not have known that the reps made a mistake. I will be keeping this email. Will be waiting for another for the second rep I talked to. Strange that they both made the same mistake.

Not sure why but the first part the email ended up in your section and not below it with the transcript.

Yeah, that was strange. But I read it all. I wonder if that rep contacted you in response to that email I sent yesterday? :)

Really, that was a major screw up on the rep's part. I'll bet she got a real fast education on flavor extracts!

Glad it's all solved, and gladder that you're feeling better. :)

I am about 100% sure the email was sent because of your involvement and I do appreciate it. I was ready to find another vendor. I am sure she did. All of the reps may have received and email, but I hope she wasn't in too much trouble.

Hey, what do you know, I got emails too...

Hey jambi! After reading through the thread and looking back through my reps chat archives, I see the problem now. The other guy asked if the flavorings we use are water or oil soluble, which kind of threw off the two reps he spoke to.
But just as a precaution, I counseled both of them on on what he was asking and went over the issues with oil based flavors and what we use.
Again, I certainly appreciate you reaching out to help wit this. Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer directly to the thread as VW. ECF has made it nearly impossible for vendors to participate in discussions these days.

Hi jambi!
Thanks for letting us know. You are right, we absolutely do not use anything oil based. All of our flavorings are PG based, just as they should be. I don't think any juice maker in their right mind would use oil based flavorings these days. :)
Please let me know if you have any other concerns I can help you with!

Thanks!
