Are Visions clearomizers wicks made of silica? Silica wick dangers...

I've got few of the older, non rebuildable EGO Visions clearomizers laying around, and... I just purchased a few CE4+ rebuildable clearomizers, with replacement atomizers/wick assemblies.

Are these clearomizer's wicks made of silica? I'm not too concerned, but there has been lots of talk about the safety of silica wicks .

Yep, they're silica just like most all of the wicks on commercially available cartos and attys. Other materials are used by people who build/rebuild their attys, typically cotton or stainless steel.

As far as I know, wicks on visions, vivi novas, etc. are all silica......on most clearos or all clearos as far as I know?

The thing is the silica has to break off and somehow make it up thru the tiny airhole and then go into your lungs......which is hard to see happening. I personally can just taste all the plastic and wicks so I won't use anyway

I was initially worried about the silica wicks. But after looking at the microscopic pictures, I figured that I'm inhaling more particles while breathing than whatever's coming out of a silica wick.

Yeh... After taking a close look, I was thinking the same thing today. I wonder what cartomizer filler is made of??? Silica?
