So, I started this with a dream of lowering my nic levels,

But I am satisfied with 12, I mean, it does it for me.... quick and effective.

Anyone planning on lowing their nic?

And to those that did already... is it a will power thing like quitting, or does 12 mg eventually just seem like too much

Im using both, because Before I got it, I optimistically thought I might like 12 or 6... and wasnt too sure... but i like my 6 flavors. and i like my 12 nic. 6 seems too little, 12 seems a bit too much, like i would be good at like... 10, but... 6 is too small... doesnt give me enough buzz

Like everything else dealing with vaping, it’s primarily a personal thing. It seems like most people on here come to find over time that they need less and less nicotine and drop down naturally. There are also folks here that have dropped down to 0mg but then gone back up to a low dose for various reasons. BT’s carefully concocted recipe of chemicals that goes into cigarettes is what makes the nicotine so addictive and without that toxic soup in your ejuice, the nicotine in an ecig doesn't have nearly the addictive power cigarettes did to you over time as you “detox.” It is really weird when you physically start to realize it.

I had to go to 24mg to completely get of cigarettes. It was a tough battle. Quickly dropped to 16mg and then eventually 8mg I believe. Since I did DIY, I then started dropping at 1mg intervals per 60 or 120ml batches. I vaped more for a day or two and then no problem. I’m at less than 1mg/ml now and next batch will be 0mg, primarily to perhaps take an insurance test. There are benefits to using nicotine, it’s not a carcinogen, and I want to take advantage of them but I also want to prove to myself that nicotine no longer has a death grip over me.

On the other hand, there are plenty of people here that are over-the-moon happy to continue vaping up to 36mg of nicotine. It’s their choice. More power to them. Do what works and is comfortable for you. If you don’t DIY, get some higher nic juice and 0nic juice and mix your way down comfortably. Best of luck to you McGill. What’s important is staying off the cigarettes and there is no shame in bouncing around to different levels as life dictates. We’re ll rooting for you in your goals.

It's very late, hope this makes sense.

Yes I plan on lowering the amount of nicotine in the e-liquid I use. I have dropped from 24mg to 18 then to 12 and now am working on a mix of 6 and 12 for something like 9mg and sometimes just 6mg. Eventually I will go to a 0mg & 6mg mix and then to zero ( 0 ). Once I get there I will ween myself off vaping altogether. Which is something I have already started by not vaping, or vaping as much, at certain times. Like when I first get in my car or when I first get out of bed or with that first cup of coffee. I'm also putting more time in between my vapes.

There was another thread on a very similar topic, "Do you plan on quitting vaping". There is only one way to quit vaping and that is to lower your Nicotine intake to a level your body no longer needs it, IE is Addicted to it.

Hey FlamingoTutu, long time no see my friend! Hope all is well with you :)

You remember correctly ;). After about 6 months I went back to vaping nic for a month and then off it again for a couple of months. I have 4 main juices I make now. One of them I mix 2 mg of nic into the rest are zero. I really can't take 3 mg anymore, it's too much, but 2 mg gives me a bit of TH that I still like sometimes.

That's exactly what I found. OTOH, some people seem to have more of an issue with lowering nic even after vaping for a long time. I don't know if it's nic addiction for them or something else. Addiction is complicated and everyone is different.

The first thing I noticed about a week after quitting was my ability to breath without a cracking or wheezing sound.

Now I just feel healthier generally. I can climb my stairs without taking a break.
TBH though. I quit because I wanted to smoke indoors come summer to avoid the Japanese giant wasp. There is a lot near my works smoking area.

Flamingo. Thanks. I shouldn't worry about it as much

Funny I came across this thread. I was just thinking I needed to drop to 3mg driving in to work this morning.

I started at 12mg last November but quickly dropped to 6Mg and have stayed there. Recently I have started using a REO as my daily device (up from Kayfuns/ProVaris) and have also started interest in RDA's over RTA's, etc.

Anywho...

The reason I am thinking of dropping is that I am getting too much TH anymore just with the REO. I bought a quart (lol) of USP kosher VG from Amazon last night and am going to experiment with 'watering down' my daily use ejuice to see if that helps without drastically reducing the flavor. If it does I will see about getting flavor base to bring it back.

Alright Spencer I was a smoker for 47 years at 1-2 pad. Here is how I started out at 12mg/ml nicotine and tried to reduce down by mixing different percentages of nicotine juice. It didn't work out for me so I decided to DIY my own juice and I know DIYing is not for everyone that's ok. Blending different percentages will work you just have to figure out how to do the blending. By DIYing I started at 2mg/mL increments which after trial and error found worked for me. Your body will tell you if and when you are ready to lower your nicotine. Your mouth will actually tell you that the nicotine is starting to taste bad. What I discovered was, as I lowered my nicotine intake I started tasting more flavor and wanted to taste more. So yes I vaped a little more but at a lower nicotine level. Then as I went on my taste would tell me again when it was time to lower my nicotine again. Well I kept this up and right now I am down to 2mg/mL in my juice. I have been working on this for 7 months and maybe there will be a time that I might need to go back up on my nicotine. That's OK just increase up 2mg/mL and work on it there for a while then go back down when your ready. Remember when you started smoking you didn't start smoking a pack a day instantly. You built yourself up to it so have patience and take your time. Also you are fighting a mind game and one of the ways of me beating this was for me to get on here and talk with other people who are fighting the same addiction as myself. One big thing to remember is don't give up even if you do slip and have a cigarette just tell yourself that this is a reminder of where you were and how bad they taste. Good luck and if you need to talk with someone get on here and talk there are a lot of us fighting the same battle as you.

sorry if this has been asked before but i was thinking of trying some 0 nic juices. Right now I am using 16-18% 50/50 mix and Protank 2 Mini with 2 holes covered and one flavor wick removed and like the throat hit i get... is there a mix ratio that would equal that by varying the VG/PG mix? Restricting airflow etc? any insight will help me decide where to start. Thanks in advance

This may be one of the best posts I've seen on the ECF and I read the forums a ton well said.

I started with 18, quickly moved to 12, been at 12 since October last year. Although the last two months i started buying both 12 and 6. Sometimes i mix them together. Some flavors i found actually tasted better at 6, and others were better at 12.

Example all all my nicoticket juices are now 6, i started at 12mg then tried the same juices at 6. Found that i preferred them at 6. So mixed them together and when i ran out of those flavors mixed, i reordered at 6,

my alice in vapeland are 11, i ordered some at 6 and found the flavor too weak, so then i bought 18 and mixed them together. Now i only buy 12.

I have some ahlusion, the plume room, parkes vaping, and good life vapor on the way from Fourth of July.
i just ordered a variety of 6 and 12.

i try to start the day off at 12mg nic.

in the evenings i usually vape my 6mg.

So for right now i just bounce back and forth.

Im happy with that.
eventually i guess that i will just stop buying the flavors that i prefer at 12mg.

i found bakery flavors to me taste better at 6, candied flavors do better at 12.
i have some net tobaccos on the way but im just venturing out to those.

i also vape aroma wta. Snickerdoodle is at 12. And when i vape wta i vape less in general. It seems to be more

Getting ready to drop from 6 to 3, been at 6 for longest time now...think I follow what my body tells me, this drop I'd say more of a predetermined drop/goal since I'm coming up on 1 year cig free, if it doesn't work out, I'll go back to 6, and I probably will stay at 3 for a long time too when and if ever get to 0...still like a little nicotine so not sure if 0 attainable goal honestly
