That's exactly what I found. OTOH, some people seem to have more of an issue with lowering nic even after vaping for a long time. I don't know if it's nic addiction for them or something else. Addiction is complicated and everyone is different.

Long time no see Ryedan! All is well as I hope it is with you too. :)

It’s kind of fascinating how different individuals are as far as the nicotine addiction goes. Just look at how people stop smoking by using vaping; we have everything from the “accidental quitters” to those that struggle for months to convert completely. I admit I’ve never noticed that the longer people vaped the harder it is for them to lower the mg/ml. We also know that fewer people that smoke get Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s and nicotine is used to treat some diseases. It’s BT and their cigarettes that will kill you not the nicotine. End rant.

Yep from 36 to 8mg/ml .
Bend at 8 for a good bit need to cut it down again lol

Honest to god, I don’t see how you 36ers survive that much nic. 24 made me reel but that’s what it took. Congratulations on the 8mg! :toast:

I was at 24 until I got my first kayfun. I was recommended by the vendor to get some 12 mg juice with it, since she said 24 would be way overkill. I was hesitant, but very glad I listened. RBA's deliver nic way more efficiently, and once I got into mechs I was down to 6. I'm comfortable there for now.

As others have said, you can tell when you need to drop. I started getting jittery and uncomfortable at 12, dropped to 6, vaped more for a bit, and now I'm good.

I vaped 24mg juice for a long time after I started to vape. One day, I decided to drop to 18mg and there was little or no difference other than that the throat hit diminished somewhat. That was good, since I tasted the flavors more.

A while after that I dropped to 12mg and then to 8mg. It was pretty much seamless because I had no real nic cravings. When I felt I needed more I just vaped harder or more often.

My next move will be even lower. I'd like to get to the point where I can vape a low nic level and still pass the cotinine test to be an official non-smoker for lower health insurance rates.

Vaping isn't quite as addictive as smoking. Recently, I spent a day at a water park in Florida where you could only smoke in designated places in the park. I left my ecig in the locker with my clothes after I changed into a swim suit. I thought I'd have to go back to the lockers and vape here and there. I only ever thought about it a couple of times all day and that was mostly about how I hadn't had cravings. At no time did I feel like I had to go and vape.

It was 5:30 in the evening before I was able to vape again and the entire day was pretty much free of thought about nicotine.

I started off with 18mg when I started vaping. Within a week or so I move up to 24mg because although I wasn't having cravings, I wasn't quite satisfied. Two weeks later I dropped back down to the 18mg with no problems. I did the 18mg for a little more than 3yrs until about 6wks ago. Out of the blue one day the 18mg started making me feel kinda green. My body was telling me it was time to lower my nic levels. I immediately dropped down to 9mg. Yes, I'm vaping a little more but it's tapering off as time goes on. I have hit the 18mg maybe twice since then.

Your body will tell you when it's time to lower your nic levels. So just relax and enjoy...

So, I started this with a dream of lowering my nic levels,

But I am satisfied with 12, I mean, it does it for me.... quick and effective.

Anyone planning on lowing their nic?

And to those that did already... is it a will power thing like quitting, or does 12 mg eventually just seem like too much

Im using both, because Before I got it, I optimistically thought I might like 12 or 6... and wasnt too sure... but i like my 6 flavors. and i like my 12 nic. 6 seems too little, 12 seems a bit too much, like i would be good at like... 10, but... 6 is too small... doesnt give me enough buzz

No plans to lower it; 9mg works well for me, but in fact I might actually raise it a little, and not be "chain-vaping" constantly.

But nicotine is far less harmful to my body than the PG and VG are; nicotine might stimulate the heart a little, raise the pulse, but that's about it; VG smothers me if I don't dilute it with water, and PG plays hell with my hydration and electrolytes.

Really can't see a single reason to lower nic levels, unless you're just "wired to the eyeballs" on a very high level, or there's some existing cardiovascular problem.

If I never moved to mechs and RBA's/RDA's, I'd still be rocking my mvp 2 with tanks and probably 24mg. I had no motivation to drop, as some do, I just moved on to more power and efficiency. I'd like to know how many mech and rba vapers are above 12mg. I tried 24 once in my kayfuns, I had almost no juice, was desperate. I almost threw up, got very nauseous.

And to boomhower, I feel you on the lack of 3mg. I'm thing of DIY liquid so I can control it more, and save money.

Yeah, that's one other reason I can see to lower nic level, when the hardware is so much better at delivering good vapor. Normally I use between 6mg and 10mg, but if I use the Caterpillar, I try to never use over 6mg. Of course, I use the Caterpillar for tasting, so sometimes I do drip some higher nic, and I can tell it in about 2-3 hits, that "spinning head" feeling -- which makes me STOP dripping immediately, because the nausea that usually follows the spinning head is just intolerable.

I didn't find much of an issue with the nic level with my kayfuns, but then even 10mg isn't that high a level; the main issue I found, when I first got them, is how much more intense the throat hit is; that was what first caused me to drop from 85% PG to about 70%-75% PG, just to soften the TH a little. I know a lot of folks say that TH is "dependent on the nic level," but I really haven't found that to be true. The Virginia that I get from MyFreedomSmokes has an awesome throat hit even at 6mg, but in a lesser tank, the small kangers for example (I have about half a dozen T3S/MT3S tanks I've shoved to the back of the drawer since getting the kayfuns!) the 85%PG is better; in a kayfun, that much PG can really scorch your throat!

NC Fog -- I like that expression because when I get that wired, it feels like your eyeballs are about to pop out! :D

AndriaD, I hear you with dripping. I only use it for flavor testing, since it eats up juice faster than my wallet can handle, and I just don't dig repeatedly dripping, either. But, even 6mg can get me with my RDA if I build sub ohm, especially. I have it at 1.2 now, and if I vape it hard, 6mg will get me still.

I need to look into a dripper that can hold a good amount of liquid. My igo w can take up to 15-20 drops with enough wick, and one hole taped, since I've only single coiled thus far. I still have to re drip regularly, and I just prefer a kayfun. I guess I chain vape at times more than I realize. Lol.

Oh I knew I was chain vaping, the whole time I was doing it, and it served me well to prevent cigarette cravings. But the dehydration and electrolyte imbalance from all that PG didn't serve me well at all, and when the problem was worsened still further by my recent illness, I knew I had to just get away from vaping for a while. Although I never did actually *quit* vaping, I brought it down to just a few minutes a day, for about a week, while working on the dehydration problem, and returning to light smoking. The 2nd week, I increased the vaping still more, trying to decrease the smoking, and have continued with my coconut water regimen for the dehydration/electrolytes. The upcoming week will be my 3rd week, and I'm really hoping I can taper the smoking down the zero, and reinstate full-time vaping. But as I mentioned, I'm thinking that my daytime vape should be at least 10mg, and placed on the other side of the room, to prevent that chain-vaping that exposed me to so much of the carrier chemicals and led to the dehydration problems. And I will probably need to increase my daily consumption of the coconut water, from 12oz to maybe 16-20oz, once I have returned to full-time vaping, to prevent a recurrence of the problem.

I think do whatever you feel best for yourself. I started out at 24, quickly lowered to 18, then 12 then 6. I've been on 6mg for a long time. I'm staying right here too. It's perfect for me because I chain Vape. I Vape around 15ml a day. A serious chain Vaper here. LoL.

Went from 16 to 11 when I switch to mechs and RBAs. I imagine once I get to building sub-ohm coils that are consistent, I'll be heading into 6mg territory. That's fine by me. It's more a hobby than a smoking substitute anymore. I spend more time collecting, building and putzing around with builds than actually vaping anymore. My daily volume of eJuice used has gone down by a third at least as well.

sorry if this has been asked before but i was thinking of trying some 0 nic juices. Right now I am using 16-18% 50/50 mix and Protank 2 Mini with 2 holes covered and one flavor wick removed and like the throat hit i get... is there a mix ratio that would equal that by varying the VG/PG mix? Restricting airflow etc? any insight will help me decide where to start. Thanks in advance

Just wanted to point out I think you mean 16-18 mg/ml nicotine, not 16-18%. There's a huge difference. 16% =160 mg/ml which is dangerous enough to seriously harm a person. What you're vaping is 1.6-1.8%.

I manually dripped for over 2yrs until just over a month ago. I got a Reo(I now have 2)and it's one of the best decisions I've made since I started vaping. I have the LP Grand with LP RM2 atomizer. If you think you may be interested, check it out. It holds 6ml of juice alongside an 18650 battery. Just a suggestion.
