Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
I'm at A sweet spot right now with my ProVari Mini/Hypertank combo. I can be perfectly happy here if the other stuff I have coming doesn't work out, but I have a feeling that stuff will be great, too.

I just wasn't happy with my Spinner/Protank/Evod combo. I have no idea why the Hypertank doesn't do the same thing to the coils as the others seeing it takes the same ones, but it just doesn't. The evods weren't bad but they are too small, really.

I gotta agree with you on the size thing. I'm loving the performance of the eVod, but I hate refilling it. PITA. Definitely looking forward to the variations with 2x the capacity I've got coming from fasttech. Probably be a little wonky on my Twists, but I think a 4ml tank will be fine on the iTaste MVP or my ZMax v3.

You may also want to consider that your experience vaping has as much to do with it than anything else. Your experiences have taught you how to use your 'starter rig' well. I have your feeling about cartotanks. I do want to try other things and am still seeking wonder juices, but for now, I got the rig I want to use everyday. Vaping is a completely personal thing, do what you enjoy and let the 'You aren't doing it right unless you do what I do' crowd do what they love. Good luck and have fun!

So, I've been vaping for going on four years now. Started with a 510 mini, quickly moved on to an eGo then started the Mod Dance. GGTB, SBs, GGTSs, Provaris, Darwin (that one was NICE), on and on and on. I'm not even going to get into the various tanks and rebuildables that I've had.

Now I'm sitting here vaping an eGo Twist battery with an eVod on it. To me it's better than the most expensive setup I ever ran, a SSGGTS with a Kick and UFS on it. That setup ran me about $600. This one, about $40.

Has anyone else had this experience? Gone all the way to the top of the eCig food chain then come back down to the bottom and found that they were perfectly happy there?

Curiosity question..........you've been vaping almost four years but your join date here is Feb 2013. Did you order gear online or buy at B and M? Were you a lurker to learn and didn't join? How did you decide what to buy first? Just curious...............:)

Will you please link to the item you are referring to?
Thank you.

Nice post Simian. You said what I needed to hear.

I've been at it for almost two years with a frugal mindset; 3 piece stick> eGo/carto> Twist/Vivi> MVP 2/igo-L.

In order of importance; Nic, TH/Flavor, battery life, vapor, simplicity.

Having said this, I'm waiting for an MVP2-like device that could go to 6 volts with a higher amp limit. I don't want to be married to charging batteries all the time.

If the eGo battery lasted as long as my 2600mAh beast in my SVD, I'd still be using them. The primary reason why I dumped the eGo batteries for their larger cousins was because I was having to recharge the confounded things too often during the day.

Yep, I was happy with 'em with that one exception. And to me, that was a deal breaker for staying with the eGo batteries.

If and when I make the jump from my MVP2, I will go with an SVD. What brand of 2600s and charger do you use?

First, I got the number of years wrong. It's three. I started in 2010, not 2009.

As for why I just joined this year... there was a period of time where ECF just didn't seem that attractive to me. I readit, but didn't feel like I wanted to participate. I've always ordered online except for a few isolated instances. We have some nice B&Ms where I live, but they're not close.

Well... There's the Opus D, but it's crazy expensive and chronically unavailable. Have you looked into the iTaste VTR or the Sigelei TMax?

Was thinking about starting a thread kind of on the same line as this one, when I noticed this thread last night. I've been vaping just over 2 years now. I did the usual progression from the cig-a-likes to eGo type to mechanical and eventually to variable voltage and variable wattage, e-pipes, and higher end bottom feeders. I've gone from cartos to clearomizer tanks to EMSCCs to carto tanks to atomizers to RBAs. I have not been "to the top of the food chain", but I managed to accumulate some moderately classed gear. I will readily admit to being attracted to the shiny and the new.

I'm not saying I don't like my "fancier" gear..much of it I like very much. Recently, however, I picked up a little "VV" passthrough from VB on a whim. I'm at my laptop a lot, and remembered how much I used to like my old eGo passthroughs. I was instantly charmed by the little guy and that set me thinking. I dug up my old suitcase with all my old eGos and my Twists and kGos and kGo VV...and thought I'd give 'em another try. I really like using these little eGo guys! They work fine with my carto tanks, I get the type of vape with lots of clouds that I like. I'm really happy. I don't use high voltage, and prefer single coils at around 2ohm. The eGo style batteries (especially the passthroughs) with my carto tanks work just right for my liking. Not saying that I won't use my "higher end" gear anymore. I'm just really enjoying taking a break and enjoying something that works EXCELLENT for me and is easier and lighter. It feels like a relief, really.

LOL. I tried to win an Opus with that stupid VP Live contest that got pulled.

Since I am frugal, price is important. Again, I'm looking at battery life and heard those weren't so great. I am keeping my eye on the SVD with the samsung 2600 batteries. IMO, the VTR looks like it could keep a boat moored through a hurricane, no offense.

Can't say I went high-end but canned the ego c upgrade w/cartos or Vamo or USB VV minis for what seemed a step-down to the eroll. Turned out it wasn't. I liked it. Then tried EVODs, T3smini, iSmoka mini bcc on all of the above in various ohms but hated the tastes from those (ismoka was vapable with one of my ADVs though) Then Joye came out with their new ego cc and, thinking it had to be more like the eroll I liked due to the tank/type A atty, I tried it. Now I'm set. I still use the eroll for out and about but the ego w/ego cc is my at-home vape. I'm happy with the vape and the maintenance prices enough to have stopped looking at high-end stuff. I use mostly 1000mah passthroughs but some 650mahs which are light enough for carrying out along with my erolls if I choose to.

Thanks for the answer.......I agree with your original post for sure :) Been there, done that :)
Not to change the subject but since you mentioned (or maybe I did) attractiveness of ECF. I think the atmosphere has changed mostly for the better with experienced people offering to help instead of bashing, I mean it still goes on of course but I certainly feel more comfortable posting, discussing ect agreeing to disagree but with a common goal. Vape on with whatever you enjoy!!!!!!!!!!
