Okay, how do you hot swap a flanged carto in a full tank? I already lost half a tank of juice getting rid of the last bad carto. Boge F16 V2's. Considering that I only have one out of three that I've tried that works, I'm going to avoid using these from now on. Still, they're the only XL cartos I have at the moment, and I just got myself a very nice, Cirrus, custom tank in purple and black with rhinestones on it. A girl's got to accessorize after all. I love this tank, but I need to find me some better cartos for it. I love the juice in the tank, and it's the last of it! The Standard's Dead Man's Party. I was sooo looking forward to this, and I'm so disappointed. I have maybe enough juice left to prime one more carto, but I can't afford to loose what's in the tank. I've got an IBTanked carto fill tool if that helps, but I don't see how I'm not going to loose another tank full of juice.

Can you just reverse hot swap it?
Push the new cart in from the top, or do those tanks have a dedicated top and bottom?

I thought of that, but without the tank tool, there's no way to get in line up just the right way and keep it that way through the process. Juice will get lost in either carto, plus the tank's o rings could get pinched ot damaged by the edge of a carto.

I topped it off a bit more and it seems to be hitting without the burnt taste and that hiss for now. Still, taste is a bit compromised, and I'm not confident it'll last. I primed until juice leaked out the laser punched holes, and the top was nice and slushy the first time. The topping off acutally flooded it a bit, but I vapes away the flood it seems. Let see how long it'll last.

I've never tried it, but this should work even with flanged cartos:

You'll have to use two tank tools.

With the tank right side up, push the tank tool so that the carto is pushed half way out of the tank. When the tank tool is inserted enough into the tank, place your finger over the opening of the top cap to block the hole. Turn the tank upside down while still keeping that finger over the hole to prevent any juice from leaving the tank.

Now remove the carto completely by pulling the connector end. Now insert the new primed carto with its own tank tool into the tank. Turn the tank right side up again and refill the tank as needed. Remove the tank tool and add your drip tip.

I've done this using a third, non-flanged carto.

Push the non-flanged (nf) carto down on top of the bad carto, pushing it out, replaced in the tank by the nf carto. Then push the nf carto back out the top with a new flanged carto. Obviously, you'd need a non-flanged carto, preferable longer than the ones used in the tank (so that it can stick out the ends of the tank and is easy to work with as the interim plug).

I think the main issue here is not losing the juice in the tank, correct?

Take the cap off your plastic juice bottle. Now take off the nipple from the top of the bottle. I do this with a bit of paper towel on the nipple to keep grip on it. Twist like starting to peel a banana. You now have a small hole on the bottle that you can drain the tank into.

I have not done this. I'm assuming it's a plastic juice bottle. I'm also assuming if you pour slow and steady, you will be able to get a stream of juice flowing and be able to catch most of it with the bottle.

If this makes sense and you do try it, please let us know if it works :thumb:
