Hi everyone! I have been lurking a bit and have been learning a lot from you. I have been vaping/analog free for just over a month now and loving it. I started out with a starter kit but would like to move on. As I have read and am currently experiencing, the information is overwhelming and so I thought I would ask you all for advice.

I currently have a 2 piece setup. I would like to advance a bit and have been looking at the Kanger tank because I like the Pyrex not cracking with citrus flavors. Is Kanger good? What batts do you recommend for use with these? Also, I want to hopefully use the same batt for testing juices with separate attys/drip tubes, or whatever the setup is called. (I am still learning a lot) . Also, besides V2, does anyone else make a setup that plugs into the wall so I don't have to fuss with batts all the time?

Bottom line, I am looking for a nice Pyrex tank system, preferably something I can plug in to the wall. Any advice?

Thanks all and happy vaping!

Kanger Protanks are pretty good, but they perform better when fitted with a lower resistance head than the one they come fitted with. They usually come with a 2.4 ohm head, whereas they perform better with a 1.8 ohm head fitted. Kanger also make smaller devices - evod, Protank Mini, T3 for example - all also vape well and are well respected. All these products are bottom coil so there's no need for rolling the juice around to keep the wick soaked, and they vape cooler than a top coil atty. If you fancy a warmer vape try a Vivi Nova or a Mini Nova, but AFAIK they're all plastic tanks.

For tasting different juices have a look for "dripping". This is where you drip a few drops of juice directly onto the coil and vape til dry, drip more, vape again etc. I have an igo L for this and it vapes a treat. It's made of stainless steel so it lasts, comes with spare o-rings so shouldn't break down, and it has a little "well" so it can hold maybe half a ml of juice if you want a bit more vaping between drips. You need to make your own coils/heads for it, which isn't difficult or expensive, plenty turorials on youtube. Making your own allows you to play about with different resistance heads too. All the aforementioned atty's are also all rebuildable fairly easily BTW.

For battery power have a look at Vision Spinner or eGo Twists. They're similar to standard eGo's but longer and a little fatter. You can adjust the voltage on them so you can "crank up" your vape a bit too. You get ones around 1300mAh, so they should last all day no problem.

To plug your battery into a computer or a wall socket while you vape look for "passthrough" batteries. I've not used them myself so can't advise.

I use Kanger Protanks when I go to work and other places. They are a solid fill and vape type of device. I cannot think of much better products for someone new to vaping. Most batteries plug into the wall to be charged. So whatever direction you decide to go, you will be fine on that account.

As far as dripping, you don't have to rebuild coils to try out different juices. There are plenty of vendors that sell 510 atomizers with coils already built. All you have to do is drip a few drops of e liquid in them and you're done.

Is the pro tank good? Absolutely. I have around 40 diff atomizers(mostly high end) and still grab my trusty protank for a day at work. It's glass, affordable, looks good, reliable and rebuildable(you'll learn about that later down the road). I don't know why people even mess with cartomizer tanks anymore considering the quality, ease of use and quality of vapor of a working clearomizer.

Do you have to use any specific battery with the Protank? (From your reply I assume that this is a Kanger Protank?). I have been looking a lot at the eGo setups. Will one of their batts work with the Protank? Also, I assume that this is a 3 piece system. A separate atty, batt, and tank? How long will attys last? Can you keep rebuilding them or have to buy new every so often?

Sorry for all the questions but I have lots to learn.

thanks for any help and advice...

The Protank is an excellent choice for a beginner and this would be my vote for the Original Poster (OP). Learn to clean your coils/heads assy every one to 2 days. Its an easy thing to do. I have 8 Protanks myself. You can rebuild the heads to get a better vape.

The reason people mess with Carto Tanks is for the superior taste over the Protank. I dont buy Boge cartos. A quality Carto tank "ie" IBTanked or Phiniac is as convenient a device as the Protank. I can re fill either at a traffic light. But you would have to have a "high end" tank with quality seals to do this. My carto usually last me around two weeks at a cost of 1.35 per carto.

Whatever you do, don't get a Provary - no matter what people say.

Why do you say that what reason do you have?

My provari is great consistent reliable vape that is durable and made in usa, kinda expensive but very well worth every single penny spent.

The only people that say this are people that have never used one. I used to think the same before I acthually used one. By the way, its spelled Provari.

Another reason we know he don't have 1, provari users respect their mod as it never lets them down even after a fall with a broke glass atty and the mod still works.

Okay. I have been looking and have found the Protank II. I also found a 510 high powered pass through battery. I see the tank is bottom coil. Is that a bottom coil atty? Is there anything else I should get or would this work as is? Thanks for all the input....learning lots today.

It will work fine. If you wouldnt mind, what is the name of this battery/mod ? can you give us a link? If it is an ego type, you may want to look at a Mini Protank or Protank 2 so it is the same size as the battery/mod your looking at.

You may want to look at getting a variable volt twist or spinner, but the regualr ego style will work fine as long as you get extra heads/coils in the 1.5 mor 1.8 ohm range, otherwise, if you use the regualr non adjustable voltage battery, you will be taking two to three drags to get the same amount of Vape as the 1.5, 1.8 equiped protank.

Protanks have a 510 thread (mine is a Kanger, it's 510 threads, and it doesn't leak).

Ego style batteries have two sets of threads on them - a large outer (ego style threads), and a small inner (510 threads), so you can use either fitting on them (broadly speaking the cheaper stuff has ego threads, and the high end kit has 510 threads). A standard ego battery is therefore compatible with a Protank, but you'll probably find that you'll want to "crank up" your vape once you've got settled in with the whole concept, so I'd recommend a Spinner type of battery. These are similar looking to a standard ego, but longer and a little fatter, and most of them are high capacity so you can get a day vaping from one. The biiiiig difference is that you can vary the volts by twisting the base, thus giving your Protank more oomph, and a more satisfying vape.

There are two parts I'm talking about here - the battery (Spinner), and the atty (Protank). The Protank is one item but can be taken apart for filling, cleaning and replacing heads. A head will last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on use, thickness of juice etc. You can change the head as often as needed, and I suppose the body could eventually wear out, but it's not really a wearing part as such, so it should be good for a long time.

Rebuilding isn't diffucult if you're good with your hands, and maybe 10 bucks should buy you enough wick and wire for about a year.

Feel free to post back any other questions, there's lots of helpful folks on here :)

I found this battery on myvaperstore.com. It is described as a manual DSE901 pass through combined with a Joye510 adapter. I just love the idea of plugging into the wall and not having to deal with batteries.

In regards to the Protank...what kind of heads do I get for the 1.8 ohm? Anything else I should consider?

Simple.....glass, bottom coil....only two great clearos, the Protank 2 and the Davide. Both great. Both the same. PT2 easier to fill, the Davide, less leaking (my experience).

You need at a minimum, variable voltage. Recommend the iTaste 3.0. Try IVape.com. Best deal this side on Hong Kong.

Easy, peazy. Best to you.
