Aspire Atlantis Coil - Funky stuff going on

As everyone else I was curious about the Atlantis and well, it is great. I received mine last week and the second day vaping on it I had a strange burnt taste. Not full on but a tinge. I took it apart and it looked like the wick material literally puked itself out? Very strange.
After replacing the coil I am going on day 3 and everything seems fine.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced the same? I only have a Cloupor 30 and typically was running it from 24-30 watts so not too extreme.

Adding a few more pics for anyone interested.

The coil wire is .39 mm and is an 8 wrap. So i would say 26 awg kanthal. Leg length = 19-20mm
26 awg = 0.40386 mm
27 awg = 0.361

The I.D. is 3.96mm or 5/32 inch

The length of the coil is approx. 9.3 - 9.5 mm

I am going to try a rebuild

My first coil lasted 6 days then that same thing happened , i think it was crud from the coil after a rinse under hot water it cleaned up .
I will try that coil again after it drys and the new coil starts to do the same

I will let you know it has been drying now for two days so i might try it tonight for a flavor change

Not sure if it's wicking material or just goo from juice. Using 50/50 so it should be fine... not sure.

I have had the same thing from the nautilus bvc coils also just figured it was coil gunk like happens on my kayfun

IMO, coil gunk / caramelized flavorings burnt off coil captured by wicking material & screen.
