I recently purchased the Aspire Atlantis tank along with the sub ohm battery. After a week or two, it has started to crackle (this is normal, I know.) but along with the crackling, I can feel that crackling in my throat? And it's not producing enough vapor. By enough, I mean not as much as it used to produce. Has anybody else had this issue? It sucks because I feel like I've wasted 110 dollars. The guys at the vape shop in my area said it could be because the coil came loose but that is not the issue.

Coils go bad, then have to be replaced or
it just be the juice your using is PG heavy as high PG juices tend to crackle and pop when vaped at high watts. Try lowering your wattage, replacing the coil or try a different juice that has more VG in it.

Agree. Replace the coil. I had a coil do the same thing. Also up your vg to 70%

Not really because your coil is bad. I know because I have that issue also. And usually it start by overfill,so what I do is chain vape it for a bit then it should go back to normal. If that dont work then yes clean out your tank take it apart soak it in warm for a bit then dry it of. Same goes to the coil but make sure the coil is dry b4 you use it or you gonna burn the life away in that coil. I hope it works out.

Do you know how I would go about cleaning the coil itself?
You could let them sit in vodka, shake em around a bit, remove, and let them dry out for about 24 hours.
I boil mine in water for a minute or two at low temp and let them dry for a few days as I rotate.
this seems to work well for me but I'm no expert. There doesn't seem to be a concise method for cleaning them.

Not a big atlantis fan here, prefer my nautilus's.

I clean my coil by running it under hot water repeatedly then air drying for a couple days. Some people will say to use distilled water...probably a good idea.

I'd clean everything out with hot water, let dry, and try again. I run my atlantis off the CF Mod and an 18650 3100 mah efest batt

For me both the stock coils that came with my Atlantis were... off. The first one wasn't blowing the kind of clouds I was expecting, it had "decent" clouds, but it felt like it was lacking, soon the airflow got blocked off and I looked at the coil and the cotton had come unwrapped inside and was blocking it off. Put the second coil that came with it in, and I was getting the harsh crackle in the back of my throat to the point where it was making my throat quite sore and I had to switch back to my nautilus for the night. The coil smoothed out after a bit, but still wasn't giving the enjoyable vape I was looking for. Wanted to switch up flavors and get a good fresh coil in there, so I pulled out one of my replacement coils I bought, and WOW what a difference. Huge clouds, smooth draw, very little crackling, been through probably 60ml of juice with it so far and its still preforming great.

That's awesome actually! But it sucks that you had issues at first. I am new to vaping so I don't quite yet know what "big" or "decent" clouds look like haha. Anything to me is a decent cloud. But it just sucked that it wasn't preforming as well as it did right out of the box. I cleaned my coil and that seemed to do the trick. Some juice came down into the reservoir underneath the coil so I think that's what it was.

Hi Obvz. I've got the Nautilus, and had a similar problem (which I think attributed to getting sore gums), which wasn't until my 3rd coil. I found I just couldn't get rid of the crackling & spitting until I changed the coil. Make sure you 'prime' your coils before hand, and also give your juice time to penetrate the coils before using it (this only takes about a minute or two). Hope this has been helpful.
