Aspire Atlantis replace atty help needed!

I am new to vaping and have been using a Kbox 40 with an Atlantis tank set up. I purchased this tank primarily for the "plug and play" aspect of the atomizer. You simply unscrew the bad one, screw in a new one and you're good to go. However... I have been unsuccessful in trying to replace my old atty. I screw in the new one and nothing happens. I am not getting the flashing lights on the mod which would indicate there is a connection problem somewhere. If I put the old atty back in, it works just fine. I have tried to use all 5 of the replacement coils that I purchased. I can't believe that all 5 would be bad. Any suggestions?

This might be a dumb question, but are you sure they are the correct heads for that tank? There are so many different clearomizers on the market and the heads are not interchangeable between most of them

Beyond that, I'm sure somebody more familiar with that particular tank will be along to offer some advice

I am using the Atlantis 2, and yes, the replacements I bought are the correct ones. I have been able to successfully change the atomizer one time and that was after fooling around with the coil. I hope that I won't have to do this every time.

was coil not seating correctly? i know sometimes i have to back it off and reseat to keep from cross-threading

I don't think so. I am removing one and screwing the new one in exactly the same way. I am positive that this is user error but I feel like I've done all the troubleshooting I can do. Tired of vaping this burned ... atomizer.

My atlantis sticks sometimes - need to jam it down then screw it in. Be sure everything is quite snug and that contact is being made. It seems unlikely that all 5 coils are bad.

Is this the Kbox with the mysterious sinking 510 pin? Anybody?

Remove the atomizer coil from the base.

Turn the base upside down.

Press the center pin on the 510 connector in. It's the center pin shown here.

Turn the base back over and install the new atomizer coil.


That should fix your problems. Odds are you simply had a coil that was a bit longer on the bottom than your new coils and the pin isn't making contact with them. Pressing the pin back into the 510 connector should fix that problem right up.


BTW, if you're wondering how one of the coils could be a bit longer it's because the bottom of the coil is actually a separate piece that is pressed into place. It may simply not have been pressed in as far as your new coils.

on an unrelated side note, when you start looking at a possible backup device, check out the kanger subox kit - the only real issue with the subox is fixed center pin in the mod, that i have encountered - kanger is supposed to be fixing that - and if you like your atlantis 2, you would likely enjoy the subtank mini + with the vertical coils (though .5 ohm is the lowest ohm rating they sell, as opposed to the .3 ohms the Atlantis offers) - nice little vape rig
