Hey e-cig forum,

So I've had my Atlantis V2/IPV Mini 2 for a month or so now.

I've been enjoying vaping the 0.5 coil at 30w but switched it out today for the 0.3 to see what it was like and at 70w it's a bit too extreme for my liking. I just find myself firing through juice like there's no tomorrow and the tank gets pretty hot.

My questions:
1) Is there any harm in firing the 0.3 at 30w or so? It seems to work fine but I don't want to be doing it any damage.

2) Am I wrong in saying firing it at 30w should just go through the same amount of juice as the 0.5 at 30w and ultimately the 0.3 might last a fair bit longer as I won't be pushing it to it's limits?

On a side note does anyone know of any cool little additions to my set-up? I swapped the o-ring out for a coloured one and have bought a silicone case for my IPV Mini 2 just to keep it in good condition. It would be ideal if there was some sort of stopper which stopped dust etc from getting in the drip tip while it's in my pocket. Does anyone have any experiences with the drip tip adapter & 5ml upgrade that they could share to help me make up my mind?

Also - how amazing is the Aspire Triton looking! Especially with the hollowed out skull sleeve. Does anyone know if it'll be able to take Atlantis coils and vice versa?

Many thanks for your time,
All help is greatly appreciated.
Jim

Jim, regarding your questions:

1) There is certainly no harm in firing the 0.3 ohm coil at lower wattage. They achieve the lower wattage by using a much lower gauge wire, which requires more power to heat up the coil. Firing it at lower wattage than they recommend will just mean that the coil doesn't heat up as quickly, which means it won't produce as much vapor. While the rated wattage of the coil is 70-80 watts, I certainly don't use it that high although I do use it at a higher wattage than you do (I fire it at 50 watts).

2) If anything, I would think that using the 0.3 ohm coil at 30 watts should use less juice than the 0.5 ohm coil at 30 watts. Like I mentioned before, the 0.3 ohm coil is much lower gauge wire which does require more wattage to heat up. That said, the lower gauge wire does have a larger surface area to vaporize juice with when it does heat up. So that larger surface area could make up for the lower heat.

I already have a pre-order in for the Triton. Looking at the coils pictured on the website, they LOOK just like the Atlantis coils. So at first guess I would think that the Atlantis coils would be interchangeable. That said, I don't think we will know for sure until someone has them in hand. I don't even see where any online reviewers have gotten their hands on any yet (or at least there aren't any reviews online yet).

Thanks for this!

Yeah I think the triton is a must if it can take the same coils. Kinda gutted now that I didn't wait a little longer and just get that initially - I wonder if the write up will be as stellar as that for the Atlantis v2! That skull sleeve is a must for me - it'd be ideal if that was compatible with the Atlantis v2 base

I just read a review from an aspire employee that said the atlantis coils will be compatible with the triton.
