Aspire Atlantis - What is the best PG/VG for under 30W?

Hey guys,

Long time reader and vaper but first time poster here. I got the Aspire Atlantis (an upgrade from my Aerotank Mega) on a Hana Modz DNA 30 and so far with a little trial and error with priming I have it vaping like a champ. Been vaping on it for about 1 week now.

My issue is that no matter what I seem to get ejuice in my mouth at any wattage setting 12-30W - all nic levels are 0-3 nic.

1. My goto juice is Niquid which is a 60/40 (PG/VG) and I get a bit of liquid coming into the drip tip and juice in my mouth so I have to constantly dry out the chimney and drip tip. I am guessing this is because it may be not viscous enough for the huge holes in the coils and therefore it is coming into the the chimney and driptip because it is passing thru too fast.
2. I picked up some 15/85 (PG/VG) juice the other day thinking that would solve it but even cranked up to 30W I still get liquid in my mouth. I think that liquid may be too thick and actually flooding it a bit. The vapor production was great and no dry hits but juice would keep getting into the drip tip again and after every hit I would feel like there is juice in the back of my throat.

Has anyone else had issues like this? I am thinking 50/50 PG/VG or even a 40/60 between 20-25 watts might be a sweet spot but any input is greatly appreciated! I love this thing but having eliquid constantly in my mouth is getting a bit old!

I think you might be thinking about this backwards; being thick would make it less prone to flooding. Sometimes spitting can occur with flooding (condensation & water boiling off shoots up etc) but in many cases it's the opposite: the coil isn't completely covered in eliquid any longer, so what eliquid is there gets super super super and goes poof. So you might actually try a thinner ratio like 70/75/80PG; whatever seems to be ideal so that spitting is reduced yet it isn't prone to flooding. That'll be different for each tank design & voltage. As an aside, almost all tanks seem to assume 60%+ PG in their design, though 50/50 is often OK for bottom-feds.

Just me, I think 20w ~ 25w is too under powered for the .5 Atlantis no matter the pg/vg ratio.
Flooding/gurgling rapid coil gunking / residue build up.

IMO, it doesn't work to my satisfaction until 26.5w, that's with a 50/50 green apple/watermelon flavor.
I usually vape 50/50 non sweet tobacco flavors at 32w ~ 38w, I have one non sweet tobacco 40pg /60vg I like best at 40w+.

99% of the juice I use is 50/50, only one that is 40/60.
I don't adjust pg/vg ratios for the device I use because I am one of those that cannot tolerate vg, even the 60vg gets to me after a dozen or so vapes.

Thanks Topwater Elvis. So at 26.5W with the green apple 50/50 there is no juice going into your mouth/driptip? Also do you mind if I ask what brand that juice is? Unfortunately my Hana Modz uses a DNA30 chip so I only have up to 30W.

" I " don't get any spit back or juice in my mouth, condensation mixed with juice coming up the center tube / chimney drip tip does happen on everything I use but a carto tank. ( I have a strong draw / inhale habit )
I occasionally dry the center tube & drip tip with twisted napkin to prevent reaching the mouth.

I'll tell you the name & place I get the green apple water melon, but, I generally don't give it a recommendation, it is a known coil / head killer it will gunk up coils & wicking material rapidly, but IMO it tastes good.

Haven't posted here in quite some time but I'm hoping somebody here has a solution...I've been using the Atlantis since the beginning of December and I have been absolutely thrilled with it - the first thing that I have tried that has allowed me to completely put the analogs behind me. Never a single issue until now, it has been an absolute champ.

However, in the past two days I have noticed a massive flooding issue with it...I am thinking it has to be a bad batch of coils or something because nothing that I do will rectify the situation...I have gone from Vaping Rabbit White Rabbit 99% VG to 50/50 mixes and anything in between and I am still having the same problem. I have put it on my Aspire Sub Ω battery and my M50 box mod @ anywhere from 22-33 watts and still the same issue. 33 watts for me previously would have resulted in dry hit after dry hit but now it is just a constant flood of e-juice in the drip tip.

When I look inside the coils I can see that the mesh isn't totally covering the wicking material but I can't recall if this is typical, as I haven't had any issues with it until now...that is about all I can figure out that might be making this happen. I haven't done anything different in any way.

Can anybody here lend any insight into what may be happening with my beloved Atlantis?
