I bought a mini aspire bdc plastic clearo a couple of weeks ago. Freakin love it with zero problems. Thought I want more tanks just for different flavours on the ready. Bought 2 full size and one mini glass aspire bdc's. Performing fine the first few minutes, then I could tell the air flow was changing, then some gurgling, then flooding. I read somewhere this happens more with the fullsize ones, so break out the new glass mini and same thing. Then I thought check the coils, maybe this pack came with the old 4 hole coils. Nope, identical to my plastic one.

Then I thought, well lets see, I'll switch the coils from the plastic one that I know is working awesome. Switched and at first it is working great, but after some use, I can again tell the airflow is changing and then flooding. grr...

So it's definitely not the coils. Looking at the end caps the glass ones have metal end connectors with an O ring for the seal. Look at the plastic one, no O ring. Plastic doesn't need this and I suspect it's all in the seal. I wasn't testing this but I had both the plastic tank and one of the glass tanks up side down standing on the drip tip while I was mucking with another one. After a few minutes when I lifted both, there was a ring of juice where the glass one stood, but the surface of the plastic one was dry.

I could have overfilled one of the tanks (even though I know I didn't) but I certainly didn't muck up all 3.

I've read some say they had this with the glass one then it went away. I can't see how this will go away on subsequent fills, but if there is something I can do I'm all ears. And some say different juices, but the same juice in all of them 70/30 pg/vg.

So I'm disappointed in my new clearos. The glass ones look great and the plastic one looks kinda cheap, but I wish I bought 3 more plastic ones instead.

I have a grand total of 1 of the larger (3.5ml size?) glass tanks. I've gotten the exact same odd results that you were told about. Usually it's a great device producing tons of vapor and good flavor. Then suddenly, nada, with no apparent cause. I set it down and pick it up an hour later and usually it's right back to being wonderful. If I didn't know better I'd say it's almost like an intermittent electrical connection. When everything goes bad its because the coil isn't firing. But that makes no sense since everything's fine when I pick it up again. Unless something really odd is happening because of the expansion and contraction due to the coil heating and that's why the coil sometimes only partly fires.

I've had that problem with both the glass and plastic Aspires and found if you remove the head, and put it back in tight it will seal. The reason was the small rubber O rings sometimes don't seal unless really tight. Since I discovered that the problem has gone away with them. Just fixed a grandson in laws Aspire Vivi Nova that started doing it, the head had backed out just about a 1/8 turn. Stopped instantly.

Using the Aspire CE5 polycarbonate was what made me buy the Aspire Nautilus. I'm on my 3rd day with the Nautilus and loving it. The first day, I was experimenting with air hole settings and wondering why I wasn't getting the flavor I got from the CE5. The next morning it was great. I guess the head needed to sit and absorb juice.

When I have to change the head, I will prime it before using it and let it sit and soak for about 15 minutes. So far, the Nautilus is a step above my Kanger Protanks. With the Kanger heads the flavor on the 2nd and 3rd days has died compared to the first day. People are saying that the Aspire maintains flavor from a head for a week or two. We'll see.

Chalk another one up to lousy performance for the glass ones...

EDIT: No personal experience with the plastic ones..

I've tried only the Aspire Nautilus and the Aspire CE5 BDC. Both are great vapes. The Nautilus takes a little getting used to, though. You have to find the right air setting for your juice. Too thin and it may gurgle until you move to the large hole. Too thick and you have to go to the small air hole to get suction up for wicking. I'm finding that somewhere in the 80pg/20vg range works with the two largest holes.
