Hey guys, first post here. Been vaping for about 6 weeks now. My setup is an MVP2 with an aspire nautilus mini. I have a couple other tanks, and looking into a DNA30 mod.

I just bought a 5 pack of BVC's from a reputable shop locally. I swapped my coil, it worked great for a day. I keep the airflow on my tank, almost wide open. The next morning, It was like the airflow was choked off. The coil still produced vapor but it took a lot more lung effort. I vapid on it all day. no burnt taste. no gurgling. just hard to pull. I swapped the coil out. set my voltage down low, etc.. vaped on that coil for about an hour before it started doing the same thing. popped a third coil in.. and its been perfect, so far.

I tried soaking the first 2 coils in vodka to see if I could clean them. Don't want to throw them in the trash, cause these things aren't cheap. They run $3.50 a piece at the shop.

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!:vapor:

Welcome to the forums, I am really enjoying my cloupor dna clone. Works great and no problems.

DNA 30 watt box mod by Cloupor

As for the mini I leave mine for a day or two and no problem with flooding. I fill it with juice up to couple mm from top, and screw on tank snug. Also use largest air setting.

I hope you get it working right, on second coil and first went thought cleaning waiting on see how it works after that. First coil lasted weeks though.

Keep this updated if you would. I just bought a mini nautilus because I was sick of using a coil a day with my kangers. Curious how long you get from your replacements.

I have have the same setup that happened to my first coil swapped it and had a burnt taste then I let it sit for 6 hours and switched to my cloupor t5 at 17.5 watts and boom pure flavor now I'm thinking of switching to a rda or rba

The 2 coils that I had the issue with, the vodka didn't do the trick. still had the same thing. The resistance was reading normal, but out of curiosity and impatience (and after watch RIPtrippers rebuild a BVC, I thought I would give it a try. Think I had a bad batch or something. This coil I have in here now has lasted several days and still running strong.
Not sure whats up with the bad batch. My first coil lasted about 2 weeks, and I was stoked on that.

Yeah, it seems when you replace these coils, you have to let it soak in the juice for a few minutes, and do several dry pulls to get the fluid around that ceramic wicking material. After I do that, I hotbox a few puffs, without fully inhaling and it seems to do the trick. No burnt taste.

Take those old coils and rebuild them :) Found a video on youtube and tried it out, worked really well. I was wondering how long it would take until someone posted a video on doing it. If your not into rebuilding be sure to get them from a reliable source with all the clone wars going on. You can get a 5 pack here for $10.95 and even get free shipping with code vuship. Love the aspire products!

I do want to try and rebuild them, I just received my first roll of 26 ga Kanthal wire in the mail. Will make an attempt at doing so. I watched riptrippers vid on rebuilding, but he used japanese cotton instead of the ceramic cloth that comes stock in the coil. Not sure what the difference in the cape would be. Guess I will find out sooner than later. Thanks for the link to the cheap coils.

Hi.. Bought the Nautilus mini 2 weeks ago and have the same problem with the burnt taste..Cant get it to work properly... First hours it performed great with great vape and sweet delicious taste with some zeus juice inside, then came the burnt metallic taste. I primed the coil well, let it sit for 15 min and staying between 8-9 w on my mvp2. Tried both coils with the same result. So frustrated over how hard it is to get a good hit out of the mini... Pathetic how the cheap tanks like the tumbler or i30 for 1/3 of the price, outperforms the mini by miles right now. Tried to clean properly, dryburnt and cleaned again before drying and tried 3-4 other juices with the same result..Got 5 new coils from aspire, gonna give it a last try before i smash the ....er with a hammer! Dont wanna give up but i mean how many burnt hit can a man stand?

I understand! My girlfriend had been using my Nautilus mini, compared to her Kanger clearomizer. She decided she wanted one, so I went to one of my local shops with the best prices in town. I got it home and realized it was a fake. Pretty irritated. Beginning to wonder if the coils I got from them were fake too. I trashed the box. I don't think the coil packs come with an authenticity code on them. If someone can tell me if they do, it would be greatly appreciated. Before I go and completely boycott this local shop that I have been giving all of my business to.
Did you check the code on yours?

thank you!

Yes! Both the tank and the coils are authentic, checked the scratchcode on aspires website... Im using the first coil in my 5-pach and so far so good! Vaping at 8w on my mvp and finally it works as it should (at least for now). Great taste and big vapor production.Seems like i maybe had som bad coils that came with the tank but ill come back with more info when i tried theese new ones out a bit more.. using the 1,8 ohm coil with a 50/50 pg vg

The coils do come with an authenticity code. It should be on the bottom of the box. It's a scratch off.

the mini is pretty simple, any tight or burnt draw has got to be the coil. The base is just the adjustable air flow ring which is open to the heating coil. Put a pin thru any of the holes and see where it comes out in the base where the coil threads in. I love both the Aspire BDC & BVC but quality control leaves something to be desired. A 5 pack of either one is gonna give you one coil that just aint gr8.
I did find out the hard way that the BVC is delicate....it screws in on both ends ....and if you try and unscrew it from the head (as opposed to the base)and accidentally twist that little bottom tit of the coil just a little bit it can easily be NG

I'm pretty sure I determined the one major cause in my 3 of 5 coils out of the pack being pretty close to garbage... They were knock offs.
I talked to my local shop I bought them from and they were just as surprised as I was when I found out. I got some authentic coils and they are back to working the way they should.
Moral of the story, check your code! @ aspirecigs .com

I love that stainless/glass replacement tank. I wish they had a similar one for the mini. But, alas, I have only been able to find the "T window" tank. :( makes the Nautilus look even more like a lantern/lighthouse. :)
