Aspire CF 40Amp SUB Ω Battery Have seen this?

When I seen the ad for this I was like "This is cool" and got all happy. the site that sent the ad had no specs.
So I did a search and on the Aspire site seen the specs and that's where the happy feelings ended here are the main specs with my notes lol.

Specs:
Output Voltage 4.2V full power output
Compatible with 0.3-1.0 Ω atomizer That's only 14 Amps
Maximum current 40A So does this mean we can go down to .11? I plan to Ask them!
Available Capacity 2000mAh rechargeable All my 18650 batteries are 35 Amp 2500 - 2600 mAh
Height 114.5 mm
Width 22mm So it will fit flush with my kayfun and my rda's

So hopefully they are just trying to play it safe saying .3 ohms because how else can you hit the 40A max if not they need to list it as a 14 Amp device!

O ya price on the site I seen it on was $42.99.

So what you think about it?

Yup, it's good IMO to be a bit skeptical about this stuff. These are not batteries you can move from one PV to another, they are PVs along the lines of the bigger eGo's. I really doubt they put out 40A. No Li-ion battery I know of is truly rated at over 30A and I'm even a bit dubious about the ones that claim 30A.

I'll give this some time to see how things shake out.

It will be a Lipo so 40 A in that form factor is possible, So the battery should have a great life at 14W and will last much longer than something rated lower.
At 0.3ohms it will draw closer to 20A when the battery is discharged so having a 40A battery would be ideal.
If it just has a 20A/40A pulse battery I wouldn't think the life would be great even at 0.5 ohms which is what it's designed for.

This is what Aspire wrote back to me:

"Hi friend,

The Maximum current can be 40A.
And the available resistance is 0.3-1.0 ohm, if you use the coils below 0.3 ohm or beyond 1.0 ohm, you may burn your coils and break the battery. Thanks."

Anyone know what they mean by burn the coil?
I know we can burn the wick but the coil????
or think they mean a resistance coil in the battery?

I've been vaping for ten months (4 month sub ohm) have learned a ton. More than most at ten months but that went over my head!

It looks to be a nice innovation for some higher power vapers. It appears to be a single 4.2 volt regulated output, so adjusting wattage is still up to the resistance of the coil you decide to build. Judging by the problems that many are having with the iStick running "too hot" for their 1.5Ω clearos and tanks, hopefully it's not aimed at the general eGo user.

As a simple form and function battery that can take a 1.0Ω - 1.5Ω build on an Orchid V4 or an RDA dual coil 0.8Ω and provide 4.2 volts through the charge of the battery it's a winner. I enjoy my mech mods, but as the battery voltage drops as it discharges, it's not as nice as a constant regulated voltage.

PBusardo reviewed it. If it's regulated, the regulation sucks out loud. In reality it behaves the same way a mech does by dropping voltage during use. IIRC, he also got it to fire below .3ohm.

That's disappointing, it would seem regulating to a single specific voltage would be fairly simple.
Maybe wait for them to put out version 2....:(

LiPo is not a safe chemistry (basically the same as lithium cobalt) and they can burst with flames violently. Not quite suitable for ecig use near anyone's face.

LiPo are used in a lot of mods. The iTaste MVP's have them and there are a lot of those out there. Also a bunch of high power regulated mods use them. I'm not aware of any safety issues from them. They are certainly a lot harder to make vent than ICR batteries are.
