Sounds too good to be true, so like you I'd wager the CDR is over-rated, too.

I notice the "max 15A" does not specifiy if that is the continuous discharge rate, so one can assume its a pulse rating. And we all know that pulse ratings are useless.

1300 mAh would be almost DOUBLE what other 18350 batteries in its class have, so I'd wager the capacity is also way over-rated. Getting enough electrolyte into an 18350 INR chemistry battery to get 1300mah seems impossible.

Aspire does seem to actually manufacture their own batteries and not rewrap other brands, which is a point in their favor. But if they are going to over-rate their specs, they are no more reputable than the numerous companies who rebrand/rewrap IMHO. When are battery manufacturers/vendors going to stop marketing their batteries with pulse ratings? The industry standard is to use the continuous discharge rating.

I look forward to seeing Mooch testing these out.

Yeah, I also hope MOOCH gets his hands on one of these, as he has already stated he has reviewed some Aspire batteries in the past and found over inflated specs. My AW 18350's are 800mah, hard to believe Aspire found a way to almost double that. I went ahead and ordered the MilSpec 18350 mod, even though at $45, it is overpriced IMO. It comes with one of these Aspire batteries, don't see any USA sites to buy them at, as of this post, but if Mooch finds them over specked, I just use the AW's I already own as swap outs.

I'm a bit of a fan of 18350 batteries. I had used pairs of "900mAh" Li-Ions in series in a mod. I found them to run down in about 9 hours of use.

I then found some (near) generic "1400mAh" 18350 units and used them for a while. I got 14 hours of use from them in the same mod as above.

While both the 900's and 1400's may have been over-rated, it seems the latter had something in the range of 14/9 improvement. Based on that, it wouldn't surprise me if Aspire came up with a significant improvement. For what it is worth, several of the 1400's became warmish and began leaking after a while and I dumped all of them.

Aspire 18350's for $3.50 each and shipping seems reasonable.

That's a Chinese website, odd these are still not available from the trusted US battery sites that carry AW 18350's.

Leaking means that you pushed far over their capabilities and they vented.

For anyone interested, i've capacity tested this, on my xtar dragon plus and my opus, it's 1114 mah, so basically, it's an 1100 mah battery.
Not anywhere near aspire's claims, but surely the most capacious 18350 regardless? 1100 is impressive. Also, according to aspire's chart, you can vape this at 10 amps continuously, what they call, "industrial use", i.e finger on button permanently, or 15A pulsed, aspire style, which means 10 seconds on, 5 off. That's a pretty extreme vaping "simulation".. I have been vaping it at 25 watts for 2 days and now it's dead, at 3.1 volts, and i don't feel any unusual heat. So pending mooch's test I will go out on a limb and say this is the best 18350 for vaping.. I did all this today, i decided to put an almost dead one in to the dragon and do the test (i have two of them, the test charges them fully, discharges them fully and then charges them again to get capacity) and then tested the other one when that was full, but in the opus, for a similar result. Was going to make a topic when i saw this one. Cheers

What's the range of the discharge/charge test? I mean, how low does it discharge? The full capacity of li-ions is often calculated from 2.5 to 4.2v so it's possible that the Dragon doesn't discharge it that low.

As you can see, the battery has been rewrapped with a proper capacity figure. I like it this way, if I am to promote/sell a product, my philosophy is to preferably exceed the ratings, so no one gets dissapointed. Even the big manufacturers have sinned in this respect.

Aspire%20INR18350%201300mAh%20(Black-yellow)-Capacity.png

Facts: 10A continuous and 15A pulse discharging. On average, battery temperature raised less than 43°C above ambient when discharged continuously at 15A, though voltage sag is severe at this level. Rocks! :thumb:

Neal, an ex-employee from the Banggood store, is selling them abroad right now at budget prices. See here: Aspire 18350 battery sale @ BLF
May all beings be happy. :)

well there you go, seems my 1100 test was spot on :) I am glad they relabelled it. The highest I tested it was 40 watts at 3.4 volts battery life, so just under 12 amps.. (40/3.4) in a regulated mod. Add the efficiency loss, say 10% at least, could be 15% in the cheap eh pro tube mod, means 13 or even close to 14 amps...I just had a few pulls using aspire's guide of 5 second rests ( i made it 8-10) and i could feel the difference when touching it to my regular 25 watt vaping.. i felt i just didn't want to try it at 50 watts even for a few puffs..
i really am looking forward to mooch testing it, i'd be happy to buy him a set if he's willing to properly test them..
