I just got a Nautilus Mini. I was told I'd get much bigger hits and that, with the BVC coil, I'd get much cleaner hits. I'm on the second tank full and still cannot stand the taste. I was told that the porcelain coils have a bad flavor that has to burn off. It hurts my throat though and you would think that, after a full tank, it should've already been burnt off. I'm accustomed to the aspire BDC. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? Is this taste going to go away anytime soon? I have my other setup, with my BDC coil, and I actually inhale that one and just grab the one with the Nautilus on it and just pull big puffs and blow them out, without inhaling, inhaling every now and then to see if it is any better yet....anyone have any tips? Can I get BDC coils for the Nautilus Mini or maybe use the ones I have for my other Aspire tanks in this one?

Are you making sure to prime the coil before you use it? To prime it put a couple drops of eliquid directly on the coil before putting the tank together, give it a few dry pulls without firing, and maybe let it sit for 15 minutes or so(though I never had to do that after the first two things). If you see air bubbles coming up from the holes in the coil then it's wicking properly. If you didn't prime it first you might have also damaged the coil in which case you'll probably need to change it or it will still taste bad.

I have never used porcelain coils. I was always told those were for dry herb. Maybe not though. Ask a user of porcelain coils to be sure. But I do know there is some debate by YouTube reviewers between the BVC and BDC coils. If I were you I would find an Aspire BDC and try that. No porcelain in them. (I have rebuilt them...not recommended though. :2c:

Yes, pop in another coil. Prime it, wait 15 min, then low and slow, slowly going up to your sweet watt spot. Don't overcook any of these coils.

And there is a mondo sale on coils from MyFreedomSmokes.

That's 7.17 for Naughty BVC 5 pack!
And they have bdc, and other stuff...

I haven't really heard of any problems with the Mini's and the new BVC heads. The wicking material in them is supposed to be heat resistant, so I don't think you could really burn the wick on these. I even dry burned mine clean when switching juices, and I had no problems with it! For me, the BVC's still perform better than the BDC's, in both vapor production and flavor, but that's just my own opinion.

Hi, new to the site but I have the mini and the 5ml Nautilus and have used the BDC and the BVC coils in both, I have never primed one of the coils yet, just fill up and wait about 5 mins flick the tanks a couple of time to make sure the coils are wet and then play, personally I prefer the BVC, like previous posts sounds like you have burn't the coil out, or its the liquid what strength you using ? when I first quit I was getting dry throat it stopped when I reduced the nicotine level. Not sure if that helps

Also, just a thought, but after using single kanger coils & aspire BDC coils for my vaping career I was shocked by the taste of that same juice on the BVC! I tasted flavors & undertones in my juice that I never knew were there. Found out that I hated my ADV on the BVC, it was way too sweet.

You say undertones...I was kinda thinking last night that maybe this flavor I love so much might just really taste like this. I certainly hope not. I don't know what company it comes from, cuz I've been buying in a retail store. I just recently started looking online because I was frustrated with the lack of consistency in the flavors. Just realized how much cheaper it is online . This cheesecake flavor is from there. I bought a cheesecake flavor from Mt Baker but didn't like it near as much...maybe I should try that one in this tank...thank you

You know...I'm not so sure she did that, now that you mention it. I've been buying at a retail store. I wasn"t sure about it, so she filled it and hit on it a bunch before she handed it to me. I always prime with my BDC coils in my little Aspire tanks...I guess they are called glassomizer tanks. I will change the coil...I only burn at 3.8 but I'll try that lower setting for 50 hits too. TY ☺

I noticed that the BVC coils had a for lack of a better term "Metallic" taste to them. I assumed it was due to the stainless steel mesh that is visible when looking down into the coil. This "metallic" taste did seem to go away after 3-5ml had been vaped through it. FYI: I was of course priming the coil with a few drops before use. I've been using the nautilus dual coils for almost a year now and had never had any issue with the taste till I tried the BVC version. However I did find that the vapor production and wicking capability of the new BVC is far better than the old dual coils. I can chain vape the BVC much faster/longer without getting a dry hit, thanks to this improved wicking capability.

I get a distinctly "metallic" taste with BVC coils as well. At times it is really quite bad. I'm wondering if I'm not priming them enough or if switching to a glass/delrin drip tip would help.
