Aspire Nautilus Tank

I have the aspire nautilus and been using the 1.8 ohm bvc coils, I don't know if it's just me, but they don't last very long, probably 1,000 small-medium hits. My husband uses the Kanger Pro tank 3 and their coils are supposed to have a shorter life span than the aspire, but his seems to last way longer. I start to not even taste the flavors anymore in mine.

Are you sure you're buying genuine Aspire coils for that Nautilus? My Nautilus coils last a LONG time.

I use the 1.5ohm coils rather than the 1.8ohm coils, but I normally get about a full month out of a single coil, vaping about 5ml per day. I don't count puffs, but that's about 150ml worth of liquid going through a single coil before they get too gunked up and stop wicking properly. I've been able to soak them overnight in distilled water and that will give them another week or two of life.

Part one:
There are many reason you could be roasting coils. What power are you running? The tank or coils or mech could have an issue. Try changing one thing at a time.

Part two: I start to not even taste the flavors anymore in mine.
"Vapors tongue" or time to go sub ohm, it was going sub ohm (particularly the Herakles tank) for me

When I used to use protank type coils, I used to use them for 3 day before droping into hot water to soak / recycle.

How long they last also depends on the eliquid you use; if you use thick dark eliquids and your husband uses clear thinner eliquids, his coils will keep running longer

As far as I know you can't get Nautilus BVC coils at 1.5 ohms. It's either 1.8 or 1.6 and the 1.8's seem much more plentiful and popular. Are you sure YOU'RE buying genuine Aspire coils. :?:

I don't count hits, but the 1.6 ohm coils I've been using usually last me less than a week. I vaped 50/50, near the recommended max of 4.3, and often vape very sweet juices. I finally broke down and bought an rta. Unless I can learn to rebuild the coils, I may retire the nautilus.

I'm sure I made a minor type. 5 and 6 are right next to each other on the keyboard after all.

And for the record, right now I'm using a .3ohm coil in my Nautilus. And yes, I can assure you those are genuine Aspire coils. I'll let you do a little web searching to figure that one out.

I didn't know you can do this, I heard water can damage the coils function. Maybe you just have to let dry overnight?

It will take more than just overnight. If you have water in the wicks it can seriously degrade the function of the coil.

But soaking and rinsing the coils out doesn't hurt the coil itself, as long as you let it completely dry before trying to use it. I would suggest letting it sit for at least 48 hours to completely dry out the cotton. I would also recommend using distilled water, or at the very least very well filtered water. You don't want any chlorine, chemical residue, or other contaminates to end up in your juice.

Good to know, I was sure I had heard that about water and coils, but so much information I come across turns out to be false or just opinion that my brain keeps all new data well-salted until it is confidently verified.
Thanks for being a part of my un-salting data process!

No need to get testy. I was just wondering how you got 1.5 BVC coils for your Nautilus.

So you built "genuine" Aspire sub ohm coils?

I didn't build any coils, I bought them. Aspire makes temperature control coils for the Nautilus, via contract with VaporShark.

Interesting. Are they actually made by Aspire or are they just knock offs with nickel wire that fit the Nautilus? Nary a peep on the Aspire website about these. Is it worth it with a restricted airflow device like the Nautilus?
