Now im wondering, is the improvment due to the coil? Or the longer chimney? Or both together.. Hmmm, ill try to run few experiments next week using combinations of the below and see what i come up with:
New 4ml tank with old 1.5ohm
Old 2ml tank with new 1.8ohm

After trying the new setup; I personally think the old setup of 2ml tank + 1.5ohm is horrible in both clouds & flavor.

Hmmmmmm. I did not upgrade my tank size. I still have the 2ml tank and the newer 1.8 coils and I noticed a great improvement in flavor and vapor. But yes yes experiment! Lol.

I purchase this tank on friday. what a let down. flavor is non existent. top gets piping hot to where you cant even put your lips to the mouth piece for a few minutes. disappointed in aspire. i was always a fan of their products. nautilus mini blows this x tank out of the water in every way. waste of $34.
Price seems high, I paid <$26. I had the same issues before adding the 4ml adapter/extension and switching to the 1.8 clapton coils.

well i bought it at a local shop. b&m prices are always higher than online. i dont mind spending more at a b&m because i can have it now, money isnt the issue. but i wouldnt have bought this if i needed to purchase a separate kit to make it vape-able. aspire should fix this issue. just make them all manufactured with the new style/kit if its that much better. its now gone in the dead product drawer lol. everything that is garbage goes in a junk drawer in my desk. i toss everything in that drawer in the garbage every 6 months or so, or just give it away to someone. looks like the nautilus mini is still the best go to mtl tank.

It was made to be TPD compliant for Europe so it had to be 2ml max. It gets so hot because the top cap is connected right to the coil. The 4ml extension kit helps some but it is still warmer than the original nauti for sure. I have 2 of the tanks and 2 of the extensions but they are washed and put away in the stash since I switched to DL vaping.

I felt the same way about these compared to the mini Triton, but when Aspire started bringing out all of the extra accessories for this (4ml kit, Quad Survivor kit) I pulled them back out to give them another try. I haven't tried the kits yet, and still want to try the 1.8 coils, but I think it was my fault that I wasn't happy with it.

As others have mentioned, this X coil likes to take its time breaking in. Start low and slow and give it a day or so to settle in. Mine seem happiest at about 8-10W on the Provari. This helps a lot with the hot top. I hated it on the Pico, and even with changes, I don't think they will play well together for me.

I had terrible luck with thick, sweet juices. I switched back to some of my favorite fruits, kind of sour, higher PG and really clear and runny for best results. The sweet ones browned quickly in the Triton Mini, and really didn't work at all in the X. I crank the air down to just a little black dot opening for the best flavor and draw.

At this point, I think the X variants will end up being my vapocalypse tank. It seems to fit well in my happy vaping place, but may not be for everyone. If you are into building, you might like the Quad Survivor kit where you can build your own coils. The glass and top will still work with the survivor, so the original won't be a total waste. Having a coil base would give you the option of factory coils if you change your mind down the road.

i am just so surprised at aspire. they make such a great tank like the original nautilus and mini, than they go and release this. why? you hit a home run with the nautilus, why change it so dramatically? change the style a bit, make it look updated but leave the coils the same and basic design the same. it wasn't broken, so why fix it. all these companies need to stop trying to beat everyone else and actually test their products before releasing them. there is no way a beta tester picked this device up and said "home run, release it". didn't they realize that these coils weren't producing no where near the flavor like their successful bvc coils? how do you not realize this aspire? so aggravating, they clearly have the capability to make a good product, but seem to rush products just cause, its too bad, because this could have been a home run.

You're not alone with feeling this way about the tank, but if you haven't followed this thread, make sure you give their 1.8 coils a chance for this. They change the experience in a pretty dramatic way. Add to that the 4ml extension, and in my option, it now blows the naut mini out of the water.

Buying just the tank with the 1.5 coils as you did...we're pretty much all with you; big disappointment. But this thing can really be salvaged! I know, it feels like throwing good money after bad, but I think it's totally worth it.

I just tried taking a vape off my old naut mini that is on my istick mini.... what a terrible experience. Like sucking through a straw that is clogged up. I have to take a full 10 second cutoff draw to get any flavor/vapor. Terrible compared to vaping the same liquid out of my Merlin and IStick 200 in TCSS mode at 36w/500f and 0.33 ohms.

I felt the same with my original kit for the nautilus X and was super disappointed. The 1.5 coils just made the tank no good for me. I switched to the 1.8 coils and it is a cooler and way more flavorful vape. I was on the verge of being done with this tank myself till I saw some of these threads and decided to give the 1.8ohm coils a try and now I love my tank. I am used to the 2ml size...all of my tanks have been "mini's". I have two nautilus X tanks and both are my most used now. Still love my nautilus mini's and my triton mini's too. :)

Do yourself a favor and try the Endura Prism tank. It's top fill.
I got rid of my nautilus first week I had it, I think they are really *ugly* (on anything) and having to take it off the battery to fill (with that awfully annoying plastic "plug thing" that is there on the bottom) made me hate filling the tank.
My coils is on week 3 as we speak.........

I went ahead and ordered a T22 while they were 20% off. I figured it was worth $9 and change to give it a try.;) I also bought one of the new Atlantis EVOs to give DL one more shot.

Well I'm glad I stumbled onto this thread! I feel there is a glimmer of hope now that there are 1.8ohm coils and an extension kit.

I've been a fan of the Nauti Mini for quite some time and assumed the X would be equally good if not better. Mine has been sitting off to the side for days; I was really disappointed in both flavour and vapor production. Heck, I got better results from my PT2'S on a istick 30! However, I pulled out the X last night, fiddled with it and found this thread. Yippee!

I'm going to see if my local vape shop carries the 1.8's and extension kit...I have my doubts. If not I suppose I'll need to order online. Seems odd to me that B&M's wouldn't carry them especially since they sell the X. Alsi seems odd that Aspire would come out with the new 1.8's + extension kit quite soon after releasing the X. Almost feels like an admission of guilt...they kinda goofed with the X?

Great info here however, and my hopes are up!
