Might well have been a factor yeah, the fear that it would pull people away from Aspire
tanks to all-Innokin solutions. I had been assuming it was mostly the recent ELeaf TC, the most entry level of TC mods and I'm sure becoming a big hit. I would think they saw it and realised that TC was sweeping the field, and they now wouldn't even have a cost benefit over TC mods.
I wonder if they might have shot themselves in the foot. If it's as bad as it looks, it would have been better to either delay it a couple of months to do it properly, or release it as-is and release a TC version later. It might taint the brand.
Then again I might be over-estimating the needs and expectations of a new, entry-level TC user. A user who has never used TC before and is buying a $40 mod to try it might well know no better and be much more willing to put up with poor usability. Those sort of users aren't even building their own coils, so stupidity like displaying all coils as 0.15Ω probably won't even bother them. As long as it can avoid dry hits with a basic Ni200 coil head, it can still succeed.
But still. Ugh.
