Aspire Pegasus & Base Charger REVIEW

Woo Hoo!!! I got the Aspire pegasus box mod and Base Charger.

I have to say, I'm really impressed with the quality of the units. For a KISS variable wattage box MOD, this is a really nice device!

The base charger is just plain sweet!!! Keep you battery topped off when not in use is really nice (at work, at home, etc.)

Nice review. I have the little cheepie ESP 30w. Its nothing special but its design and functionality put it above "supposedly" better mods for me. Im a fan of the rotating dial going back to the VTR, never had any issues with them. May have to check out the Pegasus.

Oh man, the cost of getting an early release isn't always the best thing.

Aspire has been slow to ship the Pegasus to the masses, for a VERY good reason. They stopped and re-did the box mod. It's going to have Temperature Control!!! Now that should appease the masses

I saw this on Facebook as well. I thought they were selling the non tc version and just came up with the temp control version and would be selling that as well. Either way it's pretty nice looking and I like it!

Its been a month since this review, do you have a 1 month review? Also, did you wind up getting the one with temperature control?

Wow, it's been a month now?

For a follow up, it still is my "daily driver". I haven't gotten a new unit that has the temperature control, so I can't comment about that (the price of being an early reviewer). I might go out this week and pick one up (depending on my finances).

About the only complaint I have is that it is showing some wear and tear on it. But that is TOTALLY MY FAULT. I'm not very protective of my setup's. I tend to put in the same pocket that I put my keys in. So there are some scratches on it now. But it looks like it's just the protective clear coat that is scratched. I'm almost tempted to strip off the clear coat.

I was worried that the wheel would change the wattage when I put the setup in my pocket. It only did it a couple times. But then I got into the habit of locking the setup with the 5 button clicks. Mainly because one time I didn't lock it, knelt down to work on something, and my keys pressed the fire button. Things got HOT real quick (burnt out a coil too). Now it's a just an ingrained habit to do the 5 button press before and after taking it out of my pocket.

I still LOVE the base charging station. I have it sitting on my coffee table, so when I'm kicking back on the couch between hits, the Pegasus and Triton sits in the base station. Then at night, I just leave it on the charging base, go to bed, and wake up with a fully charged setup.

I also now have the Aspire 2500 mAh ICR 18650 battery powering the device. Which I really like. I have to say, I am really impressed with the Aspire 18650 batteries. The flat discharge curve is one of the bests that I have experienced so far. The 2500 mAh is great for an all day battery for the 0.5 ohm or higher coils. The 1800 mAh battery really rocks for coils that are less than 0.5 ohm setups. But the trade off is longevity of use. You have to charge sooner with the 1800 mAh, but it can handle higher amps over the 2500 mAh battery.

Thank you! Great review! They have some at the local smoke shoo for less than Aspire charges (bulk price) but idk if its the first model that u have or the updated one you spoke about. Do you know how I could tell the difference? They don't have the charging dock tho- dumb- because that's what caught my eye!

Actually, all the Pegasus's out there have the Temperature Control functionality. Aspire stopped the production line to make all of them going out to the general public would have the TC function.

It was just a few of us that do reviews and such that got the units without TC.

Now, if there is a shop that is selling Aspire products BELOW wholesale price.... be wary. Aspire is one of the few companies that publish their wholesale prices at Aspire wholesale - Best Electronic cigarette If someone is selling below wholesale price, the chances are they are selling clones. Otherwise they wouldn't be any money. (Ok, there are special circumstances of doing a 'Loss Leader' on a sale package, but that's rare now days).

And sadly, there are already clones of the Triton and Pegasus
