This review is for a mod (the Vapor Works pegasus) I recently came across while helping a friend upgrade. First off, a couple disclaimers. This is not my mod unfortunately. As stated, I was helping a friend out and who was looking for a decent hybrid without breaking the bank. His intention was to buy a iHy Pure but while wandering the internet we happened across the pegasus. I figured, worst case, if he hated it then I could swap him one of my Pures for it and from the pictures I could tell that there would be quite a few similarities. Second, I am in no way affiliated with Vapor Works or Infinity Vapor (where the mod was purchased from) and Im not being compensated for the review. That being said, onto the mod.
First impressions upon opening the package were good. The kit included the mod (stainless finish), a small piece of SS mesh, Kanthal, 18650 extension, drip tip, 2 cent fuse, a ego style case and 2 sample juices from Infinity vapor.
Overall build quality is excellent. Threads are very nice, switch is smooth and the fit/finish was very nice. There was a slight difference in the anodizing on the 18650 extension but not huge. Im not sure if thats a common thing or just luck of the draw this time. Either way, not a big deal here since this will be a daily driver for him at work.

The switch is very close to the Pure set-up minus the finger cut out. I took a few measurements and I believe even the same magnets can be used to convert it over from springs (I actually plan to try in the next few days and will follow up later in the thread). Its got a nice smooth function but just like the Pure I would file a flat on the screw head to improve contact.

I was really impressed with the body of the mod. It seems like quite a few have come out lately that have a very cheap feel. The Pegasus does not have that problem. The tube is quite a bit thicker but still not overly heavy. I also appreciate the fact that it is able to run in both 18350 & 18650 configuration. One place I did get thrown a little bit was with the fuse. I dont use them, never have. The first time I put the battery in I was absolutely dumbfounded as to why it wouldnt fire without almost completely removing the screw from the switch. Well then it became obvious, thats where the 2 cent fuse came in. With a flat top 18650 and the fuse installed it fit like a dream. I guess Im just not sure how I personally feel about it. Probably not a game changer to most people but it should be mentioned.

Setting it up was as straightforward as it gets so Im not even going to get into that. I built the coil at 1.6 and it hit like a champ. I had my 18650 Pure so heres a little side by side for you.
Both checked w/ flat top Efest showing 4.2V
Pegasus: 4.02V @ coil
Pure: 3.87V @ coil
So, bottom line here: Im impressed, like REALLY impressed. For slightly more than a Pure, its a mod capable of 350/650 mode, has a pyrex tank, sturdier build and better performance. This one is definitely on my list of mods to buy myself soon (gonna have to get the black one). If youre looking for a good budget hybrid, you cant go wrong here.
