Well thanks to @Hobbs , a new box just appeared on Aspire's official website, big splash banner, my first idea is: Another kanger Nebox style box mod?
full

For now yes it's the same style combining atomizer and mod into one solid box, many same features:
1) Sub-ohm box,
2) Replaceable 18650,
3) Delrin driptip,
4) Normal 50-60W power,
5) multiple color options.

The differences:
1) Brand, yes Aspire and Kangertech, big difference!
2) Coil replacing system,
3) Refill method,
4) Battery replacing, Plato requires you removing cover, Nebox is much simple.
5) Plato comes with 18650, Nebox doesn't.
6) Firmware update. Aspire said it's upgradable, Nebox: donno!

For now don't yet got Plato in hand so don't know how it feel, but for now I would rather keep my money in pocket and wait for further reviews, handchecks etc,
How do you think?

The last Aspire I bought (recently) was the Aspire Odyssey ... 70W Pegasus w/Triton2 tank. Can't see the Aspire Plato replacing it ... but they probably aren't trying to replace anything in their product line with the Plato, I guess.

Seems with Aspire's release of the K series and now the Plato, they are aiming at a specific starter target audience. Maybe with the growing popularity of vaping, it's a target rich environment?

Yes as you see that as the vaping is much more popular, the high-end specs before are moving down to entry level, to fulfill the greatest and even expanding "bottom" market, NEBOX, SUBVOD, EGO ONE, ENDURA, etc now Aspire Plato.
maybe we should expect more soon in near future, they wanna entertain vapers and attract more into the vaping community(market) :)

It's not just sub-ohm, you can also use your Nauti coils in there for MTL.

For me the biggest cons of the Nebox are eliminated:
- it not so darn wide as the Nebox
- it has AFC ! the lack of this put me of the Nebox for good
- glass tank instead of plastic

So for me it seems a nice improvement over the nebox

Yes the AFC on the bottom is a majority improvement, also the glass tank, but nebox is much easier when replacing battery and coils, the structure is also much simple, don't know why they had design this way..
