Aspirecigs kindly sent me their latest mod with dual 18650 cell in exchange for my opinion. Rhea mod is described as "an unbeatable shockproof construction with a futuristic design".

Packaging:
The classic white / orange box presents on the front the image of the device, the brand (Aspire), an adhesive stamp with the color, the product name (Rhea 200 Mod) and the inspiring motif of Aspire "Innovate The. Way You Vape ".

On the back side we find; a brief mention on Aspire's activities in the world of vaping, the contents of the package, some warnings, the address of Shenzhen Eigate Technology Co, Ltd, finally in the form of icons the social groups of the brand.

The name of the product and the color of the sample in question are repeated on the sides of the box. We also find; a batch number, scratch and check, logos and legal marks in the form of icons.

Available colours:
Rhea Mod is available with different finishes, with "leather" or "alcantara" handles, the "Granite Gray" version was sent to me for this test, which has a completely black structure with gray leather inserts.

First impressions:

Aspire Rhea is Aspire's first shockproof Mod. This new release is an elegant combination of various materials such as; leather, shockproof rubber and metal. The perimeter of the Mod is surrounded by "sides" in shockproof rubber that protect it from accidental falls, perhaps from this detail derives the "Gundam Designe" to which Aspire refers in its presentation of the product.

Feeling:
Rhea Mod with the cells inserted reaches a weight of almost 300g which is not a little, but thanks to the balanced center of gravity, the dimensions contained in height, and the classic triangle form factor, it is ergonomic in the handle, the mod is firmly anchored to the hand with its protruding bumpers.

Gundam Design:
The zinc alloy armor covers most of the mod, the protruding rubber "bumpers" protect the display from accidental falls, the front control panel incorporates the Fire button at the top, the color display with horizontal reading in the center and below the Up / Down / Mode, with the Type-C charging socket.

On the back the armor has a double central spar joined in the center and screwed to the mod via 6 Torx screws which leaves a large part of the leather insert exposed to the touch.

The side view of Rhea Mod highlights the leather or imitation leather insert in the center, the rubber bumpers, the Torx fixing screws and the Rhea & Aspire lettering one on each side.

Rhea Mod above and below:
The upper part houses a 26mm cup screwed to the mod via 3 torx screws in a central position. The pin is floating and gold plated.
On the bottom we find the sliding door, the brand, the logo and the indication of the place of production.

Dual 18650:
The batteries are inserted from the bottom, the battery door and the inside of the compartment are all clearly marked for polarity.
Sometimes it can be a bit complicated to close the door, but the fastening latch is very sturdy as it is made of metal, so just press firmly and without fear until you hear the audible "click" which indicates that it has closed.

Atomizers range:
According to Aspire it is possible to install atomizers up to 28mm on Rhea Mod, however I think they have kept a lot of low about this, in fact I have successfully installed Aromamizer Ragnar RDTA by Steam Crave a 35mm beast! This atomizer is perfectly contained if we exclude a slight protrusion on the back (flat angle) which however does not disturb the sight and touch, since it practically forms a fourth protrusion in addition to the 3 existing side bumpers.
In practice, the range of atomizers that can be installed is really wide and thanks to the central position of the cup they do not disfigure even the smallest tanks.

Operation Guide:

• Power on / off: Press the Fire button 5 times consecutively
• Power Lock / Unlock: Press the Fire button 3 times, when the Up / Down buttons are locked, only the Fire button works.
• With the unlocked Mod it is possible to adjust the power from 1 to 200W with steps of 0.5W at a time up to 100W and 1W at a time from 100 to 200W.
• Reset Puff: Press the Fire button and the "+" button at the same time.

Parameter setting:
With the screen unlocked press the Mode button for 2 seconds to enter the main menu, the screen will display "MODE", "COLOR", "BRIGHTNESS" and "EXIT". Press the "+" or "-" buttons to choose the parameter you want to set, then press the Mode button to enter.
• When entering the "MODE" setting, press the "+" or "-" button to select the output mode among WATT, VOLTAGE, BYPASS, TC / TCR and CPS, then press the Mode button to confirm.
* In TC / TCR mode, press the "-" button and "+" button at the same time to enter the value setting: "PWR" which is the prehit, you can adjust it from 1 to 200W; the "TCR" is adjustable between 0.2 and 9.99%.
* In CPS mode, press the "-" button and "+" button simultaneously to set the value to C1 / C2 / C3.
• When entering the "COLOR" setting, press the "+" or "-" buttons to select the screen color from blue, green, orange, red and purple, then press the Mode button to confirm and exit.
• When entering the "BRIGHTNESS" setting, press the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the screen brightness, then press the Mode button to confirm and exit.
* Tip: Press the "+" and "-" buttons simultaneously to return to the previous screen.

Refill:
Charging must be done with a maximum current of 2A with a recommended voltage of 5V, by connecting the type C cable. When the battery is fully charged the screen will turn off.
If the charging voltage is above 5.8V or below 4.5V The device will stop charging and the screen will display "CHECK USB"
* If you press the Fire button while charging, the battery will stop charging to ensure your safety.
* It is not recommended to use the built-in USB charging function on mods that use replaceable lithium-ion cells, lithium-ion batteries should be charged in a balanced way using an appropriate external charger to avoid unnecessary risk.

Security Notifications:
• Cut Off 10s: "10s OVER TIME" appears on the screen
• Open Circuit Protection: "CHECK ATOMIZER" appears on the screen
• Short Circuit Protection: "ATOMIZER SHORT" appears on the screen
• Low Voltage protection: "LOW BATTERY" appears on the screen
• Overcharge Protection: The device stops charging
• Over Heath Protection: "TOO HOT" appears on the screen

Final conclusions:
Aspire Rhea Mod adopts the advanced Aspire ASP chipset which can provide all the indispensable safety protection, supports Watt, Voltage, Bypass, TCR, CPS modes, and to meet several vaping needs offers customized user interface settings (screen color , brightness adjustment, Puff counter). Battery management is balanced throughout the discharge phase and delivery is always prompt and powerful even at high wattages.

The Mod does not integrate complete IP67 or IP68 specifications, however it is well protected with its effective Shock Proof system, the rubber bumpers perform their task in case of accidental falls and also the contact with the shelf leaving the Box at rest is very soft and silent.

Despite the heavy weight I find this device well balanced, extremely solid and pleasant to handle, if you are looking for a Mod that can accommodate gigantic atomizers with style or a sturdy work Mod that can withstand occasional hits this could be the device for you.
