I will be making my own non nic flavours, using a 80%-20% PG/VG base, with 10% reserved for flavours. I will be blending 30ml total at a time. How many drops of Vodka would be recommended in a 30ml blend?

And any brand/proof in particular? I'm not looking to destroy my mouth and throat, but would like to add some TH into a non nic blend.

Unflavored, highest proof you can get. In the US people tend to use pure grain alcohol (190 proof everclear), though that's not available in all states, and I don't know if you can buy it in Canada. In NY, Devil's Springs 160 proof is what I use.

Since you're already mainly PG, you really don't want to add too much, since the liquid would then be too thin. In non-PG mixes I use about 5% (1.5 ml in 30).

I'll be curious to hear about the results - I'm also wondering what the magic is for getting a good TH without nicotine. Apparently there are some products (Qhit) available that are supposed to increase TH but I haven't been able to find out what's in them!

That makes sense to use 1.5ml in non PG blends so as to cut the VG's viscosity a touch. I did make a blend and cut it with about 2ml of Distilled water that I made using the bowl-in-the-pot method. Worked well after putting ice on the lid to help cool the steam faster.

Switched, as I'll be using an 80-20 PG/VG blend for the time being, I will try 3 drops first, and add more should it be needed.

Thanks a bunch for the info guys, I've searched this forum high and low but couldn't find anything really definitive as far as how much Vodka to cut/blend with. So I really appreciate it!

gadelson: I will report back with what I found to be a comfortable amount of Vodka in a 30ml blend. But I think it will end up being around 4-5 drops as indicated by Switched.

I'm lucky, here distilled water is in all the grocery stores, about $1/gallon.

Some TH additives supposedly rely on various pepper extracts -- no clue at all what QHit uses (no belief that it is a pepper, I really don't know). I've also found that some Vanilla flavorings seem to enhance TH, as does menthol -- a bit of menthol can spice up many liquids.

I can get distilled water here almost anywhere really. The problem I found is that it only come in 4L jugs lol.

So for the 2ml I need, I'd sooner just boil some water in a pot and distill my own. Plus it's something to do, I love tinkering lol.

Now I'll be doing PG/VG based mixes, so distilled won't be used.

Boiling is not distilling really, which is vaporizing and then condensing... Thanks for the vodka TH tip, I happen to have some ;) so I'll give it a try (I read about it before but never tried).

Edit: actually considerably less vapour and no additional TH, in my experience...

Just so we all know that I'm aware of what distilling is. ;P

Edit: And to Switched; I obtained 152proof vodka today and put 5 drops into my 30ml blend. Worked like a charm for TH. I'm using a 60%-25% PG/VG with 15% flavouring (setup in your calculator). The 5 drops are not calculated into the overall mix, I just add them after for a total mix of 30.25ml or 100.83%.

Cool. Your 60% PG is helping you out there. I only use it in a couple of booze blends. I find it scratchy vice the thump we are looking for. Mind you I was never a fan of reckless TH anyway.

Wrt your recipe, nothing wrong with that. As you know you could have very well entered it in the calculator, it would have subtracted it from the total and the total H2O to add. However, for folks that don't dilute just ignore the number in the H2O field and subtract from overall total.

My version since switching over to all VG, will dilute all my VG. 20% for added VG and 10% because I use 100mg all VG nic. My liquid flows and wick extremely well, in all equipment I use. cartos, the T tank and dripping.

ETA: A quick trip across the border to Quebec will get you 92% (184 proof) Alcool, which is PGA. :)

Nice, I have a few friends that travel to Quebec frequently for business. I'll have to see if they can pick me up a bottle!

Here's a pic of the 152 Proof, I figure this would work well to help revive dead attys to. (But seeing as I'm pretty new, I haven't yet destroyed one)

This vodka is distilled from grain.
