Much of the TH comes from the nic strength and the flavorings. Some flavorings have better TH. In general creamy flavors have less TH but that's not always the case. I haven't noticed a difference in TH if I add PGA and since I don't really care for the taste I discontinued using it in my mixes.

There are several threads here somewhere discussing PGA and what others prefer. :)

Not here.
For what it's worth, in another thread elsewhere, someone wrote to one of the juice vendors who offers a customization in the amount of their throat hit, asking them how they manage this. The vendor replied that they use PGA to create smooth, medium or aggressive throat hit.

It's VaporRenu and I've not found much of a difference regardless of the PGA content.

I think it's the nic and, possibly, citric acid. I also don't think PG adds or enhances throat hit, it just doesn't drown it out like VG does.

FA, the Italian site, sells something that's supposed to add throat hit without nic. I can't remember what it's called, though. I'm thinking of ordering some flavors directly so I'll probably pick up some of it to see if it actually works.

Edited to add- It's called Qhit. I don't think it's an additive. It's more like a base liquid that you add flavoring to. I'm gonna' try it.

Qhit is an additive but needs to be used at 10% and maybe more, depending on your PG/VG ratios and voltage. I've been testing it and it works better than anything else I've tried for real TH, but I don't value TH as much as a lot of people do, so I'd love to hear other peoples' thought on it.

And yeah, if it is PGA that VaporRenu is using for TH, it's no wonder a lot of people don't really notice it (except maybe the weird taste).

I doesn't really give it a weird taste. I think it evaporates rather quickly so it'll probably disappear if you leave the bottle open for any length of time.

From my experience, there are two main types of hit, lung hit and throat hit. Also, inside these groups, there are many types of hit depending of the subject. For example, PGA and menthol gives me a good TH and lung-hit but I know other people that tried the same juice and did not found any TH. My conclusion is that the TH is very personal so we need to customize the formula. At least, in my research I found that TH is obtained with some combinations of PGA, menthol, cayenne/pepper, cinnamon, and some acids like lactic acid. By the way, I have read a lot about Atomic Cinnacide from Tasty Vapour giving a good throat hit. I'll give it a try as soon as I can.
