Astro by Space Jam

I had wanted to reply to another post, but alas, I must post in the new members section. Anyway, I bought a 15ml bottle of Astro by Space Jam at my local vape shop to try out. I am always looking for a new refreshing fruit flavor or blend to add to my growing list of all day vapes(fruit flavors are my favorite). I opened the bottle to a sweet aroma of apple and strawberry bliss. I fiercely shook the bottle and then loaded up my Atlantis tank with the new juice. I vaped on it for a while and found it to taste like perfume. I found the fruit flavors to be indistinguishable. I couldn't taste the apple or the strawberry I had originally smelled, just a concoction of indistinguishable flavors. I return to it and vape some more hoping it will change but it tastes the same. The vapor production is fairly average. I believe it is a 50/50 VG/PG ratio at 12mg/ml nicotine. I have adjusted the voltage, but cant get it to taste good--it kind of gives me a headache from the fake perfume-like taste. Even the juice in the bottle smells bad to me now. I have read that steeping may help a bit, but many claim Space Jam juice to be great out of the bottle. I will definitely steep, but I am not too hopeful about this one. Any one else have this experience? Or the opposite?

Hi @ParkerC and welcome to the forum. I don't know how much steep your juice has had before you purchased it. I know with some fresh made juices they will require steep to improve. What I would recommend is to get a coffee cup and put it in the microwave with some water in it. Nuke it until it is the heat of a hot cup of coffee. It's important you don't go over the 150 degree point because nicotine will break down at that temp. Take the closed bottle of juice and put it in the coffee cup of hot water and let it sit until it's lukewarm. This thins out the vg somewhat and allows the molecules to shake hands. Then I'd recommend taking the juice and putting it in a cabinet without the cap on to let it breathe over night. Hopefully this will allow the "perfume" to escape. The only other method I could recommend is to let it steep in a dark cabinet for a week. Good luck in your vape journey.

Hi, and thanks very much for the lengthy reply. I will try your quick steep method and see if it takes the edge off. I do believe it will become more pleasant, but won't be the really refreshing genuine fruit flavor I like. I don't know, I sometimes feel I just don't have the palette for some of these more complex fruit blends.

I am still somewhat of a beginner so I haven't got into coil building or anything like that, although I understand you can customize your experience a bit more. I find that I like a lot of juices on my atlantis; I have been vaping Chameleon by JVapes and it's a dream. What are chem buffs exactly?(Sorry if that's an obvious question)

gone through some of space jam juices. astro was actually one of the better one among their juices. andromeda.. i can't vape it. it hurts my throat. omega was ok, and so was galactica and pluto. but they all have that filmy coating that gets left on the lips and sort of perfume thing. they are not completely bad, but i had better.

Dont want to be argumentative here, but how does nicotine break down at 150? The boiling point of nicotine is above 450° f.

It is a "recommended" industry standard. Plug "150 degrees" into the search box and there are many lengthy reads on it.
