OK. I had my piece of duck with buckwheat/onions/prunes stuffing. With bourbon. A nice chunk of stilton with beaujolais nouveau. My son came to celebrate with us. My wife was rather accommodating and not arguing about my drinking habits too much. And I have even saved 8 ml of Turkey 101 for my ejuice and still have some to nurse till midnight.
But...
Duck is gone.
My son will departure for another city.
In the morning my wife will find something to say about my drinking habits.

But! But I will prepare my new bourbon juice tomorrow! (my secret recipe never tried before: Wild Turkey 101 8 ml, nic 3 ml, VG to taste.)
Life is still wonderful.

I'm an old retiree whose children have been grown/gone for years. My wife and I still live in the massive Victorian house we bought decades ago to raise our family in (five kids). I still remember the days of changing diapers, reading bedtime stories, the pitty patter of small feet on the wooden staircase and the routine chaos each day held with -smug- fondness. We had a houseful for Christmas but all have since departed headed back to their own homes and now, once again, all is deathly quiet on the homestead. :( I too am suffering from "after Christmas" blues but fortunately that is somewhat tempered by my favorite NETs which I'm enjoying with a fresh cup of coffee. With new 0.4 ohm dual coils installed, my Magma RDA is hitting quite well at 50 watts. I've broke out three of my best, well aged cigar NETs; Rocky Patel "Vintage '90", Drew Estates "Acid Opulence 3" and Rocky Patel "Autumn Reserve 2008" and intend to cloud my study while working on a caffeine buzz. Life is good, even if a bit too quiet.... ;)

The days and weeks following Christmas has always been kind of a 'blah' time for me. I never have gotten especially excited about New Years.
But this year, especially the next few days, are going to extra rough. It was last year, on 12/29/2015, that we lost our 35 year old son. It will be something that will be with me for the rest of my life, I'm sure. But this first anniversary is especially hard. I got through Christmas; although getting into the Christmas Spirit was somewhat difficult.
