I had 3 coils in rotation for the last 3 weeks, one for fruity and one for bakery flavors.

I soaked them at the 10 and 11 day mark in vodka and then rinsed them with scalding hot water and let them air dry. They were just about as good as new. At 3 weeks one was giving dry hits so I am soaking them again.

If they work great, if not I will toss them in my rebuild box and fiddle with them later. I have a friend that is vaping the 1$ clone coils from fasttech and he tells me he cant tell the difference between those and the original coils.

I hope this works for you. they are a sturdy coil, I cant see getting at least one goos rinse and second use out of them.

Pulled the 2 coils out of the vodka and rinsed them under scalding water running for about 5 minutes.

The cotton, or fiberglass or asbestos ( whatever ) is nice and white and there isnt really any burnt residue or gunk anywhere.

I would normally just toss old coils, but I wanted to see how much life I could get out of them in case I ever need to conserve money.

I actually had a buddy out here offshore with me that was broke all the time. For every 2 old protank 2 coils i would give him, he would give me back a re wicked and coiled one.

That is called coopervapetion!

I believe what happens is that over time some ingrediants in the liquid get a bit burnt and bind to the wick. The ability of the liquid to flow is reduced, finally to the point where it can't flow fast enough to keep liquid on the coil. Annother thing that might happen is burned material that won't flow builds up around the coil so when there's not enough flow for the liquid the built up material starts to burn.

I tried cleaning Nautilus mini coils by soaking them in triple strength denture cleaner several times in succession then flusing them thoroughly. That worked, sort of. The cleaned coils didn't last as long as new and it seemed like the flavor was reduced.

It seems to me that dry burning would ony incinerate the wick material.
